Richard Schmidt letter: President Bush an honorable man
The Forum - 01/29/2004
President Bush made his position and his case clear to the American public in his State of the Union speech. Americans are not perfectly safe, but they are safer. Americans are not all well off, but they are better off.
Whether you agree or disagree with President Bush’s policies, you know what they are --
unlike his critics who change their positions, their plans and their protestations to follow the polls. This is not leadership.President Bush, however, has shown real leadership. He is holding a steady course on national and international policy despite the chaotic clamor of his political rivals who can agree on only one thing -- whatever President Bush does is wrong.
I suggest that those who
accuse this honorable man of deception, recklessness or catering to special interests take a look in the mirror and ask themselves who is deceiving whom.Richard Schmidt
