Freeper vs. Freeper
Enjoy this thread... They are all over each other about Bush's spending. Gotta love it!

Best. Freeper Quote. Ever.

Let me get this straight - we can't criticize the President because then we might lose our freedom to do things like criticize the President.

14. Deleted posts--
sometimes a freeper will repost what was said in those deleted posts, or part of it, then the freep will comment so you know what was said, and what was deleted..

3. Oh man, I HATE going over there. I took a peek and yep, they are
all over the place on the topic. Think their freedoms are protected by the Repugs and they'd loose them under a Dem?

I've go good news though! My sister, who is both a Repug and a Fundie will absolutely NOT vote for Shrub again this year.

Got the usual "I think he's a true devote Christian blah, blah, blah". Then she springs it on me, "what do you know about Dean and Edwards, I'm leaning toward one of those 2, I will not vote for Bush again". (She doesn't like Kerry, Clark's military background scares her off.)

Hallelujah and praise the Lord, my sisters voting Dem and has her hubby convinced as well!!!

Drinks are on me :toast:

7. Thanks! I was shocked. I am hoping see represents more of the
Repug and/or Fundie base. I don't know for sure, but she says they discuss it in her "ladies group".

Wouldn't that be great - Revenge of the church ladies on Shrub!

8. How did this happen
I mean it seems obvious to us about Bush's corruption and dishonesty. For one of the new ex repub DU'ers, he said the profligate spending was the last straw. What about your sister? Did your arguments play a hand or did she just come to the conclusion herself? If your arguments helped what were they?

21. She came to it on her own. I had sent her the info and petition
to save over-time pay, which got her on the mailing list. I forwarded one e-mail from moveon.org regarding OT as well. I don't know if she ever checked out their site or not, she didn't say so I doubt it. I did introduce her to Lou Dobbs when he started covering OT and exporting of jobs - she's been catching that off and on.

Talking to her tonight it seems the deficit was a big one. She also caught wind of the Hell-a-burnin over charge story. (Has no love for Cheney due what he did to Dresser Industries). Corporate greed and the off-shoring of jobs was big on her list. Then the no WMD and the coverage yesterday - she only caught a bit of it and wanted to know more. I got her interested in checking the news on the internet instead of just catching what's on TV. That's what she's doing tonight. Got 1 e-mail from her so far - best I can describe it is "shock and awe" at the truth.

I think she's representative of a lot of people, too busy living their daily lives and only catching bits and pieces of the news on TV and skimming the headlines of the paper at work on break. I know I was that way until I was laid off.

at freepsville also. They're at each others throats quite frequently..Some of the freeps get so pissed at what's written and try to rope them back into their corral, but, there's a lot of things going on, and lot of freeps will NOT be voting for the creep...

9. Spying on the Freepers
I like to lurk over there from time to time scouting the opposition. Now that Clinton is gone and the War on Terror is less in the news (until Kay's recent revelations), real divisions have emerged. The first split seems to be between total Busbots and fiscal conservatives who also dislike the Patriot Act. The second division mirrors some threads here. It pits freetraders who favor open borders against the laid-off and soon-to-be laid off who generally dislike illegals intensely. The site owner is a Bushbot and there are a lot of deleted posts in threads involving these issues.

I really think that some of these guys, and they are mostly guys, are ripe for a third party candidate espousing these positions:

1. Cut federal spending severely everywhere but in the military.

2. Force out illegal immigrants by various means involving employers and cut down on legal immigration in general and H1B and L1 visas in particular.

3. Present a dignified plan to extract us from Iraq.

The trouble is that such a candidate might have some pull among independents as well. It'll be interesting to see if such a candidate presents him or herself in coming months.

Anyone else?

Amanda

17. Pat Buchanan
Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 11:46 PM by amandabeech
has stated unequivocally that he won't run this year, otherwise I would have mentioned him. What's needed is a slicker, smoother version who doesn't come off as a complete demagogue ("peasants with pitchforks" anyone?), and who really hits the debt/deficit harder than I recall Pat doing in '90 and earlier. On further reflection, support for a limited war against terror with an emphasis on homeland defense without taking over another country might be a plus too.

23. welcome to DU Amanda
Freepers only seem to be concerned about what other people are getting.
they're also paranoid and don't appear to understand issues. How is Bush helping national security by creating more terrorists in Iraq and alienating other countries who could help us? And how is it a good thing to lie about the reasons for invading another country and sending our soldiers to die for Bush's lie?

11. bush the socialist!
who'd ever imagine a guy like gwbush seeing the sense of big gov and gov spending?.....the president outdoes any Dem in building up the instruments of cohersion....in the interest of FORCING the american people to....repent, confess, honour, obey and work hard!
The American worker, of course, needs some bucking up (which the President surely is going to attend to) and the capitalists running dogs are being exposed as unnecessary....a 5 year plan (part of long term 100 year plan) is all of what we need to redistribute the earth's wealth, with the HARD WORKERS lined up special for their rewards..while slackers and capitalists, freepers and the DISOBEDIENT are...well the President probably has something awfukingful on tap for them...a Project for a New Global Order (PNGO)
Isn't this wonderful?
(1st, they must outlaw private guns, then we must institute Internal Passports; after all only criminals and terrorists need fear it, as they will be caught and terminated...)
and the Patriot Act!....no one ever has to know about any messy horror stories fixing up America may need to work!
:-)):>
The left needs to beware the freepers turning on OUR president...he needs only a few more months to finish the JOB!

32. Yes. He is a socialist. Fascists have a huge socialist component
along with control of the government by corporate interests.

Weird isn't it? These guys claiming to be "conservative". They are the furtherest thing from "conservative" that can be imagined:

1. Giving churches tax money.
2. $1.5 billion to teach amurkins how to stay married.
3. Meddling in countries all over the world and doing preemptive wars
4. Huge federal spending and enormous deficits
5. Federal control over local schools through (no child left, etc)

NONE of this fits a "conservative" agenda.

24. Rush mentioned this

On his show today.I normally can't stand to listen to him,but I do find his screwy observations of our primaries oddly entertaining.

Anyway, this guy calls up pissing and moaning about * spending like a drunken sailor, but eventually says he would vote for * over Kerry since he believed Kerry would spend even more. Rush shot back at the caller "I wouldn't bet on that,Bush has already outspent Clinton" (maybe a word or two different, but close enough)

*Bush outspending Clinton, and brought to light by their favorite Pigboy. It's no wonder their little heads are ready to explode.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

With their favorite ideology programmer introducing cognitive dissonance into the lemming-like freeper populace, can millions of politically catatonic right-wingers wandering the nation be that far off?

Given everything that's going on, and seemingly building, I'm wondering if come election time, right-wingers might not know what to do or say or even think very clearly.
