will w use images of 9-11 & carrier landing in campaign ads?
will bushco use the falling towers and carnage as graphic reminder about what a great leader he is? and will they use the footage of the million dollar photo op of monkeyman 'landing' on the aircraft carrier to show how beloved this military hero is to his troops?

or would such use of this imagery backfire on rove and co.?

1. It's already being used in campaign literature...
... and in fundraising events. Signed copies of the photo on the carrier are being traded for campaign contributions, from what I read.

Cheers.

2. A pro-Bush group already has, apparently.
Unsurprisingly, however, they didn't use one of the shots with the 'Mission Accomplished' banner behind him.

Personally, I say that we use the photo op to remind people that the war isn't over and render it useless for BushCo.

6. A couple of days after the flyboy stunt
I was flipping through channels and saw the beginning of Scarborough's show on MSNBC. The montage already had a clip of our glorious leader, God's chosen one, in all his flightsuited, rolled-up sock glory. It had only been about TWO DAYS since the stunt.

7. They will spend MILLIONS of dollars on the best political advertising
Hollywood can produce to make Bush look bigger than John Wayne. For $170 million dollars, hollywood can make Howdy Doody look like the greatest leader in history.

14. Yes but
Howdy DOody is smarter than Bush, so it would be an easier job for them.

15. Reminds me of a Simpsons episode
where Burns was running for office.

Seriously, what the hell is he going to spend $170m on anyway? Kickbacks?

9. I can't believe they'll use it widely
Maybe with the hard core war crowd. Did everyone see the MWO juxtaposition of the pictures of the little boy with the teddy bear and the idiot-in-chief in costume with his thumbs up. VERY DISTURBING! I'd like to see that in a poster with no text--just the pictures. It kept me awake for quite awhile last night

10. Ive noticed something since Bush declared Victory
On all the tv channels everytime a soldier is killed, they say
this is the 51st soldier killed since President Bush declared combat over in May. Every time a soldier dies they remind us that bush declared victory in may!

I have been noticing this for awhile, and just heard Lester Holt say it again! (sickening that anyone HAS to say this)

11. Plausible Deniability
Some "independent" group will use these images while the "official" campaign will claim they didn't approve the ads.

13. most likely
that's what they did when the wiley bros. ran those 'mccain supports breast cancer' and 'mccain supports pollution' ads. they denied they had anything to do with them. but i believe the dems should use the mission accomplished images in their own ads with the daily death tolls, etc. this would 'disarm' the gop tactics.
