3. What do I watch on cable? |
|
Old movies on TCM. Bartcop E! tells me when the good ones are on. Does that count as watching TV? Right now, there are ZERO network shows worthy of my interest. BBC America cancelled the last show I would watch there (EastEnders). The Sopranos won't start again until next month. That's it; TV is dead. Get the shovel.

5. Digital Cable and Too Many TVs |
|
Yes, I've failed as a parent...I have televisions all over my house and they're all wired for the "minimum"...CNN, Court-TV, Nick and so on...or else my children would plan poor future nursing care for me.
I just upgraded to HDTV digital...hundreds of channels with virutally nothing on, but at least there's NWI and BBC America...and our local PBS affiliate in Chicago, WTTW, offers a 24/7 wide-screen digital format that always makes for fascinating viewing (yes, High Definition is incredible)
When satellite first came out I investigated, and what I've never understood (maybe someone in the "biz" can step up), is why DirecMurdoch or the other companies never came up with a "whole house system"...using the existing cable wiring in the house to deliver channels to all the sets...like the cable does and offer the premiums on one or two sets with converter boxes...it surely cost business here.
Cheers!
