NBC/WSJ Poll has Bush down 6 points! (post Uday/Qusay)
The feared "bump" in approval from the Uday/Qusay deaths is showing to be (like the WMDs) non-existent.

Yet another poll has Bush down into the 50s, and plummetting precipitously. This is is lowest approval and highest disapproval ever in the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll (considering the MOE of 3.1%).

1. Another interesting point here ...
The percentage of undecideds from the last poll is the same as the percentage gained in the disapprove column, while the percent lost from the approve column is the same as the current percent undecided.

3. Good point! I'm sure the exact numbers are coincidence, BUT...
... I had never really looked at it that way. I just tend to look at the undecided as a separate group. But they are really the route people take to move between Approval and Disapproval.

Looking at it that way, you can actually see that people are moving away from Bush in droves (it's more like a 13-point swing away from him).

4. Not to worry... the FI is going on vacation again for a month
planes will then start flying into buildings OR there will be the start of another build up to war. The FI's ratings will once again soar.

(FI=Fucking Idiot)

5. And if his approval drops below 50%
We are guaranteed another major terrorist attack in this country. Mark my words.

8. No
Botch* benefited from the rally-qround-the-emty-suit-figurehead effect following 9/11 and they then centered all their policies around "protecting America" even going as far as invading a middle eastern country to take advantage of the average person's ignorance of the fact that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 or anti-US terrorism.

But if another attack happens after Afghanistan, Gitmo, the Homeland Security Department, the Transportation Security Authority, the Patriot Act, the invasion of Iraq, Operation Ponce Around In A Flight Suit, killing Uday & Qusay, threatening Iran & Syria it will not look good for Botch* and his cronies. He's done his macho swagger thing and if/when it all turns out to be useless or (in the case of Iraq) counterproductive it will only further erode his support. Sure there are brain dead Fox News zombies out there who will still support him but there are not nearly enough of them to "re" elect him without help.

14. Sure there are.
And the "help" will come through auditless electronic voting and the standard manual methods of disenfranchisement pioneered in 2000 and 2002.

Their gory bloody corpses actually lend creedence to the notion that this is a Bush ego war. They seemed like grotesque trophies, or something. Frankly many probably don't see why the children of Hussien were attacked. Hussein was a bad man, but all relatives of bad people get involved in their badness, to a certain extent. His sons were definately drawn in, but then that goes without saying.

9. Hussein was a bad man,
I believe if the stories I have heard are true then I agree he is/was but where do we get our information from? It is all right-wing propaganda that I see and hear about Saddam. I really don't believe much of what I hear. Hell Saddam could actually be Santa Claus but will the truth ever really be known?

11. I hate to do the tin foil mexican hat dance
but I thought it was really weird that the night before the two were shot, the History channel did a big documentary on the crimes of Saddam's sons.

13. The History Channel is part of the Time/Life Fiefdom.
They wallow in the "America Never Wrong" fiction. Remove that 'windage' and they're not too bad ... and sometimes laughably entertaining.

7. More bullshit to let Democrats think there's hope...
Edited on Thu Jul-31-03 01:40 PM by Oracle

All it will take is some small terrorist attack and/or a war and Rove has Bush back at 68% and the sheep right back ready to vote... BUSH 2004! Rove knows that.

They will keep us in fear...just in time for the election and Bush's staging party at the 9-11 site for the convention. and Bush will drop out of the shy again, to a landslide victory!

Fear, supercedes any economic downfall.

12. What is the magic number that makes him an unpopular rather than
popular president? I realize the limbo bar is set as low as you can go for mr chimpypants but really, is it the low 40's? 30's? Zero?
Just wondering.
