Was in Huntsville AL this morning and read that a firm in Scottsboro AL loses 560 jobs today--Pillowtex. Filing bankruptcy. All in all Pillowtex is letting about 6000 workers go. Tell me again, Georgie how the economy is improving.

7. Plus the announcement that Lord & Taylor is pulling out of Crabtree Mall..

(not for two years when their lease is up...but could be the start of more retail downsizing in the area)And, the fact that there isn't money to fund any of the small struggling new companies (biotech and medical device) that the state was banking on to keep growth fueled..........Pillowtex is a disaster........such a huge loss of jobs.

But, yesterday Bush said all one had to do is "go to your local Community College" and get retrained so that you have the skills to get along in our new "high tech" world. Yeah Right! Who funds the local Community College.....the State.....and what state has money to even keep the programs they have in place. The man is as clueless as a door mat. What about all those folks who trained for the high tech world and their jobs are going to India.
