Good Liberal NewsPapers?
I've been searching for a few good Liberal NewsPapers. So far I have only found online resources, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Can you recomend me a few newspapers you read, or other Liberal Liberal newspapers?

Thanks

3. The Guardian (UK)
I Lived int he UK for 3 years, and The Guardian is great. I thought they were going to have a US version as well, but I haven't seen anything on that recently.

4. Guardian tends to suck Blair's butt
All because of fear of Tories taking over. Best paper in UK is the Independent. http://www.independent.co.uk/

5. Independent was my 2nd choice
Edited on Wed Feb-11-04 07:11 PM by LondonReign2
I liked the Independent as well, but found The Guardian more consistently left/progressive at the time. That may have changed with Blair becoming best friends with Shrub.

And WTF is up with that? I mean, I always knew Blair was more of a pragmatist than a true liberal, but I would never have imagined him getting cosy with the WarChimp.

9. I disagree -- the Globe is only liberal by comparison to the Herald. (NT)

7. Mainstream or alternative?
There's tons of alternative media out there -- but if you're looking for something mainstream with wide exposure, I'd suggest the San Jose Mercury News and the Boston Globe. Neither is exactly liberal, but both are generally fair, reasonable, and not cowed by the Radical Right.

For liberal-liberal stuff, you couldn't do better than The Nation. Mother Jones is usually good. The Village Voice is often good.

10. The St.Petersburg Times
I receive it every morning and I can tell you this: The editorial staff has little use for Repugs....although they do try to be fair.

13. the Sacramento Bee
The Bee has long been a Democratic newspaper. Its editorial page puts forth liberal positions and consistently backs Democrats in elections. I suppose this makes it an anomaly among modern American media.

It's also an excellent newspaper, probably one of the better regional papers in the United States.

14. The St. Pete Times in Florida, whats your definition of "Liberal"
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 06:39 AM by Rebellious Republica
I am not sure I like that term, it very open to interpretation. The St. Pete Times tells it like it is, they have very high quality standards and won numerous journalism awards.
