Get Ahead Of The Issue. A Simple Strategy. |
|
It is time for we the people to step forward and take the lead. By setting the agenda onto equal rights we win.
Should others try to make a noise on a “wedge issue,” the questions are simple,
“What part of equal rights do you not understand?”
“Which rights do you (the person you are talking to) want to give up?"
"And why would that person want to give up his/her rights?”
The issue is simple, your response eloquent, your position unassailable.

2. Maybe Lesbians and Gays |

Should hold "wed-ins" like the old civil rights movement strategy of going to "whites only" places. Obviously, it wouldn't be quite the same, but man it would piss off the RW

3. that's a brilliant idea |

couples could flock by the thousands to massachusetts for weddings on the first day it's possible in that state then return to their home states and file thousands of lawsuits against the governments of their own states for not recognizing reciprocity of marriage the way they do for heterosexual couples. i got married in north carolina and remain married no matter what state i move to. the same should hold true for same-sex couples. seems to me that would move the debate along quite quickly and force the country to look at it as an equal rights issue.
