Bush and Rove thrive on political division... |
|
Although he stole into office on the promise of being a "uniter, not a divider", the sad truth is that Bush unites "his" people by dividing everyone else. They are very adept propagandists and political strategicians. By understanding how they maintain their strength is to also understand their weakness.
If they did not have the division, they would have to defend their policies and philosophies. Neither could stand up to scrutiny. If the entire nation were supportive of them and their policies, they would be lost as to what to do. They would then be required to govern and they could not survive without a political nemesis to blame for their failures.
The irony of it all is that the stronger Bush shows in the polls, the weaker he becomes, because the more people that support him, the higher the expectations of him. But expectations have short life terms. When they are not met, support evaporates rapidly. And Bush is not good at solving political problems, he is only good at creating them.

1. Dividing groups weaken their position. |
|
Thats why they encourage the diversity with the 9 democrats running.... Disorganization will strenghten their control of the White House.
I've tried to discuss this but it falls on deaf ears....

There will be only one Dem candidate running for Prez in the end. Rove's Bushbots may then attack but that will unite Dems. The only drawback is that we will have to get going on the name recognition thing as time will be at a premium.

3. Gay Marriage Amendment |

They're going to work this one for all it's worth. Yesterday, McLellen(?) said Shrubya is also against Civil Unions. Looks like they're taking on Dean, early.

If I think they're doing it because they think he'll be the nominee and want to get an early jump. If they can get Dean to expend himself on this one issue first, they may think they'll have him so busy on this one issue he'll have no time to beat up Bush on *his* weaknesses.
Or if I think they're doing it to get him out of the Dem race, ASAP.

6. They are doing it because it is a good issue for them... |
|
Dean just happens to be the candidate most closely associated with the issue. They don't care. Their idea is to unite their fundamentalist base and divide a large portion of the Democratic vote...which it will.

7. Unless, of course, some Dem out-Roves Rove.... |
|
....and succeeds in dividing the Republican base, especially on social issues.
 about it.

8. One way to do that is question everysingle GOP pundit as to whether |
|
They agree with Ann Coulter that Democrats are Traitors. Make them disavow her and what she stands for. Either that or come out and say they feel Democrats are Traitors and make themselves look foolish. Coulter should be a great weapon for us, we just need to take advantage of her craziness. She should be a great asset in splitting their party.
