Bush's Ohio approval rating dips below 50%
http://www.enquirer.com/midday/02/02192004_News_mday_ohiopoll19.html

...The poll finds that 49 percent approve of the president's overall performance, 49 percent disapprove and 2 percent neither approve nor disapprove.

The poll finds that 47 percent of Ohioans approve of the way Bush is handling foreign affairs. Forty percent approve of the president's handling of the economy.

The Bush campaign is counting on Ohio as one of the key states in his re-election effort. Bush won Ohio by four percentage points over Al Gore in 2000.

The Ohio Poll is conducted by the Institute for Policy Research at the University of Cincinnati. The latest poll was conducted between Jan.30-Feb. 10 of a random sample of 842 adults. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.

2. Republicans need Ohio
I thought I heard somewhere that no Republican has ever won the presidency without winning Ohio.

3. Sweet
Is it safe to say first Kentucky, now Ohio? How many other states do you think he will lose?

I am hoping by the gropenators performance California will stay blue.

4. rubbing my hands together with unbridled glee
What I would like to see is a poll that matches Bush against Kerry or Edwards. Nationally, Bush has an approval number around 50%, but he is being beaten by Edwards by 10% and Kerry by 12%. I wonder if the situation in Ohio is the same.

Anyway, the Democratic candidate only has to keep Gore's states, and pick up Ohio, and the election is ours. Looks good.

6. About time
Well, the whole flag-waving, blind patriotism thing only works for so long on moderates. Doesn't surprise me that they are beginning to turn- Bush really has nothing to offer people with a net value of less than $1 0,000,000.

Ohio is key. We win with Ohio. Gore only lost by three per cent and he IGNORED us?????? He didnt even attempt to take Ohio!! Trust me I wrote him a few times before the election and told him the mood here but he ignored me also.
