1. I've thought the same thing. |
|
Has the ACLU stepped in to fight this? I haven't seen that they have. somebody needs to do something, that's for sure. Asscroft has no business asking for these records.

2. Medical societies across the country are fighting it |

Doctors are really appalled by this. I know a number of state medical associations are drafting protests.

Forget you supported everything this fascist administration does or wants.
To take away the rights of one person; takes it away from all of us.

4. He was upset about the Atkins "obese" news |
|
My co-worker listens to Rush & I was trapped in his car with this on the radio. :eyes: Rush was going on & on & on about how it was so wrong for the doctors to get a hold of Dr. Atkins medical records & report that he was obese. Rush emphatically stated that they had no business getting their hands on Dr. Atkins' records & so forth. This went on for an entire segment.
Interesting now that he's silent on Ashcroft trying to get women's medical records regarding D&C's. What a flipping hypocrite!!!
I remember seeing an ad in Newsweek at least a decade ago when the rabid right was pushing through an anti-abortion bill....it showed a woman with her head in her hands being questioned by the cops & read "what if you had a miscarriage & the police showed up to question you?" I thought that was a bit of a stretch then, but damn, it's becoming a reality now!
Regardless of how you feel about abortion, the government has absolutely NO RIGHT to stick its nose into this most private aspect of your personal life. :grr:

It's just a matter of time before an indictment comes down and it's read in court. At that point Rush's drug problem go from rumored to alleged on its way to convicted...and we're gonna learn plenty about this man's finances and drug use in the process. Get the popcorn ready folks...and the marvels of Florida is many of us will be able to watch the trial on Court-TV.
Roy Black is trying to pollute the jury poll...set up the groundwork for a mistrial or build up some chips in a plea bargain. Either way, Mr. Limbaugh soon awaits the fate Martha Stewart is now enjoying...and the media feeding frenzy that is sure to ensue. Yep...gonna be a nice...we'll get a nice helping of this man's past and present hypocricies...and watch all his erstwhile friends turn on him like the jakals they are.
Personally, I think his medical records should be private and support the ACLU on the general precept...especially keeping those records from the hands of insurance companies...but not when it involves major felonies. Mr. Limbaugh stands to have broken several federal and state laws...doctor shopping, conspiracy, racketeering, money laundering and so on...none political, but criminal. The DA had to show cause for those records to be investigated and due process is being served. I just regret that the ACLU could allow Rush and his RW hive to pervert the confidentiality issue as one of political persecution.

... as soon as they charge him with a crime they can legally access these records. What they are waiting around for I have no idea - but in the meantime I loathe Rush but I cherish civil liberties for all even more.

10. They Still Building A Case |
|
If I'm not mistaken this case is tied into another one...and not sure if all the material that is germain here is available.
This DA knows he's gotta have a solid case that he can win and I'll bet there's a lot of plea bargaining going on here. Roy Black has gotta know going to trial would destroy his client. But then maybe he's not as smart as I think.
I love that Rush is trying to frame this as political, since once his drug story is told it will destroy any shread of credibility he has left. More popcorn, please!

6. Rush harped for years about President Clinton's medical records |

and they had actually been released. Rush just insinuated they were hiding something and they all hadn't been released.
