Predictions for a second Bush term thread |
|
Let's all try and remember what will happen if this Administration is given four more years. Those of you who say there is no difference between it and Kerry need a wakeup call. Feel free to add predictions:
1) The draft. Sometime in early 2005. They'll see to it that women are exempt (the fundamentalistwackos never much liked the idea of women in the military to begin with), as will be the sons of privilege. 2) 4 new Supreme Court justices. Likely to be young nubile Scalia clones. 3) Wars in Syria, Iran, perhaps Cuba and North Korea. 4) Suddenly Republicans will decide that the deficit is a national emergency, and we all know what gets cut when Republicans do the budget cutting. 5) Patriot Act II 6) Social Security privatization. 7) Another recession, probably starting in mid-2005. 8) The death toll of US soldiers in Iraq could go over 2000. 9) Drilling in ANWR. 10) Another round of tax cuts for the wealthy. 11) The overturning of Roe v. Wade sometime in 2006-07, once the USSC is stacked and state legs. have the Green light to ban abortion and bring a case before the court that will overturn R v.W.

6. Discarding of the Bill the Rights |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-23-04 02:30 AM by JaySherman
Final conversion of America to a theocratic, fascist, police state. Eventual mass-internment of gays, democrats, activists, pagans, muslims, drug-users and anyone one else the theocracy believes is on the wrong side of their 'Holy War.'

|
Now, that's a scary image.
I pretty much agree with what you say.

3. "1984" plus "Rollerball" |
|
Stir vigorously, add 2 cups of right-wing Christianity, blending thoroughly.
Welcome to the new America.

7. Arnold Schwarzenegger becomes the host of "The Running Man" |
|
NBC's hit new reality show where real prison inmates run for their life from overarmed cyborgs. It's based on the 1987 movie in which Schwarzenegger starred. Schwarzenegger is happy to bring the concept to life for a new generation of patriotic Americans...

9. Let me add some more (addendum) |
|
1) repeal of the minimum wage. 2) The Medicare-drug bill will fail, much like a similar bill did in Nevada a few years back. 3) a "flag burning" amendment to the constitution. 4) a national professor "watch list" of professors who are too liberal or "anti-american". 5) the faith-based initiatives program will expand and it will start openly discriminating against non-Judeo-Christian religions.
and finally, I bluestateguy, will be there to say to all the Naderities (many of whom will see themselves or a loved one conscripted into George W. Bush's army) I TOLD YOU SO!!!

10. By 2008, Even the Facade of Democracy Will Be Gone |
|
If Bush* "wins" in 2004, there won't be any 2008 elections, or if there are, they will be like the ones Saddam held, or the ones Iran just held, or the ones the Soviets used to have.

to maintain the illusion of 'democracy.' But they will be rigged to allow for the continuation of the imperial dynasty, starting with Jeb.

Teaching of evolution will be banned; creationism will replace it.

15. This will become historical ... |
|
"Presidential press conference"
As in ....
"Daddy, what's a presidential press conference?"
"Well son, back when Presidents had brains to deal with spontaneous discourse and balls to defend potentially controversial decisions, they used to happen fairly regularly."
