316 Nader threads in the last 24 hours |
|
I wonder what the record is for a single topic. I'm sure the 2002 election was up there as was 9/11.
People have a lot to say about Nader today.

1. Hiding them all is like swatting gnats |

Hopefully people will settle down and get focused on our own capacity to win. Let nader be a radical nutter, and then make genuine reasoned and open appeals to him and his supporters not to vote for bush again.
We are not victems. We won the last election and we'll win this next one. The Bush/Nader ticket is irrelevant. We need to get turnout and more voters registered.... A wise political candidate might use political akido to let nader speak the unspeakable and brand his voters republicans.
Too bad we can't get the same focus on registering voters as we do on bashing nader.

3. I think debating these things is a good idea, however |
|
the threads I have seen and the posts I have seen in the past 24 hours have given me great pause. I have seen posts advocating sabotage. I have seen posts calling Nader and his supporters 'traitors'. I, personally, have been slapped silly for simply speaking my opinion.
I find the hypocrisy breath-taking, given the tyranny we've been living under for that past several years.
perhaps it is time to leave DU and find a place where ideas can truly be discussed in an open, democratic forum.
It's tragically ironic... dems have been calling for unity and cooperation from greens, libertarians, independents and conservatives, and then they pull off a series of threads like this.
The mind boggles.

4. "unity and cooperation" |
|
But the Nader Enablers don't want unity or cooperation, they want to bash the Dems and apparently would prefer to keep Bush as president rather than work to get rid of him. If it were up to me I would ban Naderites from DU for the very same reason we ban freepers. If you're not with us you're for Bush.
Please start your own Naderite forum. You all can tell each other how principled you are by not voting for the only candidate with any chance of beating Bush. If Bush is "re-elected" thanks to the sanctimonious Naderites, I hope you are among the first to be drafted to go fight where ever is "next" for the Bushies.
