http://www.austinchronicle.com/issues/dispatch/2004-02-27/pols_naked4.html.... On Tuesday morning, a small group of protesters (almost outnumbered by reporters and photographers) gathered at the Governor's Mansion for what was disingenuously billed as a "support rally" for Gov. Rick Perry, under the theme, "It's OK to Be Gay." ....
For the record, Naked City looked into the Perry rumors when they first surfaced some weeks ago – inevitably accompanied by the warning, "The divorce papers are being filed today!" – and found no evidence of any truth to any of them, whatsoever. ....
That is, during a luxury retreat in the Bahamas, the governor discussed "public school finance" with a group of wealthy right-wing activists who have done everything in their power to undermine, or even abolish, public education. ....
http://www.austinchronicle.com/issues/dispatch/2004-02-27/cols_pagetwo.htmlOn the one hand, watching an overly militant, pro-family politician take a moral dive brings a certain pleasure. ....
I stopped caring about these rumors some time ago, and stopped believing them before that. ....

Texas Governor Rick Perry has fled to the Bahamas (it's a nice place to discuss education finance reform, apparently) to get away from all the rumors. There's more about that here. As the press dutifully points out, he's there with his wife, Anita. By the way, there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that Anita Perry will marry Andy Dick after her divorce from Rick. If she does, here's hoping that she doesn't use Andy's last name for hers. Sort of rolls off the tongue, no? Anita Dick. Snark.
Apparently Rick Perry didn't get the advance text of the Federal marriage amendment, which has been re-worded as follows:
"Peenies are for sticking in hoo-has. Also, hoo-has may not touch other hoo-has. Unless we're talking about two hot chicks. Like Naomi Watts and someone else hot."
