1. I thought the same thing... |
|
I was watching the footage early this morning on CNN and it looked like total chaos.
There was a group of women pelting US soldiers with rocks and the soldiers were firing into the air. There were thousands of people just fleeing and going totally insane waving Iraqi flags. It looked like a civil war was imminent.
I'm no expert, but it looked pretty freaking brutal.

our troops had a legitimate reason to be over there...truly sad. Hopefully the entire nation will have woken up by November, we can put an end to this madness.

6. where does bush go from here?? |
|
I await with trepidation..civil war has always been inevitable..iraqis will not accept a US imposed governing council..they will not accept US occupation ...how many US troops will die before the general population turns against bush and he is thrown out of office? ..what then for Iraq..if elections are held Shia candidates will win a majority seats..iraq then becomes a theocracy along the lines of Iran..no access for western oil companies..no access for western corporations..this is a mammoth disaster..

a long long time.
We are now intimately responsible and involved with this blood letting. ] It does not seem to affect many people at all.
How come?
I cannot understand that. Why, are people not taking to streets to protest the ineptitude of George Bush and his illegal, war mongering invasion of Iraq? Why are not people who love humanity, not protesting the murdering of the Iraqi people
they are people--like us-human beings-they had nothing to do with anything Bush was accusing Saddam of. They were simply, "in the way" and convenient victims perhaps of a sinister attempt at genocide?
This is a war crime. Plain and simple. Bush has done it and expects he has done it with impunity--and I think he is very very proud of his foreign policy of kill, kill kill all innocent people in your way.
AFter all, it does secure the Middle East for us and our allies. NOT

to give a damn. The dumbing down of America: it has been a long, long slide and look what it has come to. When people are more interested in voting for the next American Idol asshole than voting in a REAL PRESIDENT, you realize just how low we have sunk.

don't have a freaking clue as to what's going on right under their noses let alone around the world.
Too busy with piddly everyday shit. Caught up in their own world. To be fair, some are looking for work all day long. Others are homeless. Many are too high to give a damn. The Hawks just loooooooooooooove it all anyway. It's just too pathetic.

12. What's with all the graphic horror on the news lately? |
|
First we saw the mutilated bodies of Saddam's sons, and now we're seeing oceans of blood almost every day (not to mention Gibson's Jesus Chainsaw Massacre).

13. About damned time I say |
|
I am getting a wee bit tired of people who blissfully support the policies that result in such ugliness but refuse to sully their "beautiful minds" with the results. These people need to see it, they need their NOSES rubbed in it.
Supporting Bush becomes a whole lot harder when you have to see each and every one of the thousands of corpses he causes up close and personal. Personally I'd love to see a camera crew running around Haiti right now filming every murder victim killed due to their support of Aristide. Then some talking head should turn to the camera after each one and say "This is what you asked for."
Yes I'm ranting and I know it. No, I don't really want my kids to have to see this. Although I must admit, part of me does. I want at least our eldest to know just how much misery these jackasses cause. Too many people think politics don't matter. I think they'd change their mind if they had to face the mess.

15. Agreed. The evening news should look like Mel's fucking 'Passion.' |
|
What is missing from the average Americans life is the sight of what 'their government' does to destroy people at home and abroad.
On second thought, people might riot and lynch the way they used to here in this country against blacks.
We chimps are mighty volatile and vindictive. Maybe we should just leave the killing to the professionals...

14. AOL News is featuring Kerry, Mars, and Roy is up and walking again. |
|
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 01:59 AM by JohnOneillsMemory
This scene in Iraq is too horrible for AOL to feature in their news box at sign on. I can see why. All they have is 'happy' news up first.
Either they are covering for Bushler or fear that people wouldn't sign on to the internet if this horrible reality about other people's lives were to hit them right in the face.
I don't have TV so all news is text or stills. I'm shaking just from reading about this and seeing fairly tame still photos.
If there is a god, God forgive America.

16. It's hard to believe... |

that their own Muslim brethren would bring in a bomb to kill men, women, and children. The 10-day Shiite mourning festival Ashoura which could not be celebrated under Saddam was turned into such a bloody mess. These Iraqis were finally celebrating in freedom. I guess Al-Qaeda isn't as Muslim as they claim. Or at least they don't love their brethren.
