Anyone notice how nicey nice Bush is being in foreign policy now? |

Not a day goes by where he doesn't "mend fences" with some foreign leader or talk about how he is seeking international consensus. Where's the Bush of last year (or the year before, or the year before) who was pushing other countries around and acting all unilateral?
When's the last time he unilaterally pulled out of a treaty? Why hasn't he called out any countries for being in an Axis of evil lately?
I guess the Hyde version of Bush doesn't show up in election years.

Of course it's mostly imagery, but that's the point. He's scared.

5. he's doing his "I'm a loving guy" act ... gag! |
|
It's aimed more at Americans than at the overseas viewers, I suspect. Texan friends have warned me that he put on a nicey-nice face when campaigning for a second term, in the hope that people would either forget about his REAL self, or believe that he had turned over a new leaf and "learned his lesson".
