Is a Vote For Hitler
Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at 9:04pm

It's what he said recently before a

9. true: Nazism and fascism more generally are conservative ideologies
Edited on Thu Mar-04-04 11:38 AM by ithacan
just look at the support the Republicans gave to the apartheid regime in South Africa, the fascist regime of Francisco Franco in Spain, etc. etc. etc.

The current leadership of the GOP is much closer to fascism than most americans and even republicans realize...

On edit: This guy's statement is a perfect piece of evidence for that assertion too. It's fascists who try to tar their leftist opponents as being "enemies" or in league with enemies, or evil...

3. Fine. Lets compare candidates.
Let's examine Bush and Kerry's histories, philosophies and records and see which of them more closely resembles Hitlers.

If the Republicans want to open that can of worms this election season, no problem.

The GOP is clearly feeling desperate at the moment. Let's make sure this feeling lasts for them.

5. Beyond the incomprehensibility of most far-right spewing
Even if you're rabidly-right-wing and want to agree with this, what the hell does it mean? What's his justification? In the short article, the deluded idiot also makes a claim that Bush losing would be like Osama winning. Why? They used to be able to at least come up with a shallow rationale, but I can't see that in this particular piece. I get no impression beyond "raving lunatic".

6. I love this one line in the article
"a vote against the re-election of President Bush is like supporting Adolph Hitler during World War Two."

So, voting against a man who invaded a country is voting for one???????

Pretzel logic invades more Repukes.

because a vote for Bush is a vote for a man whose family made money by supporting Adolph Hitler during World War Two

but somehow it is OK for the elected repukes to do it? OK, then. This is what I think of Congressman Cole's response. Put me in the "gutter politcs" camp.

15. Yes, in the Orwellian Double-Standard of Imperial Amerika
Yes, it's ok for a Bushevik Stooge to say things roundly condemned when bornmal human beings say it.

Watch. It won't take long for the echoing silence of Corporate TV Pravda and the Party-Loyal Bushevik Sub-Media to confirm this.

18. See also the quote on the last page of Ivin's book...
"Facism should more properly be called corporatism, since it is the merger of state and corporate power."

- Benito Mussolini

Hmmmm....I wonder which of our candidates more closely fits with that quote...

WASHINGTON, D.C. - "The Yukon Review
mischaracterized my remarks in the opening
lead of their story published yesterday.
However, they did accurately quote parts of my
speech during the Canadian County Republican
Convention held last Saturday."

"I do believe that if President Bush is not
re-elected, the United States' enemies around
the world will take comfort and strength in the
fact that such a strong war time leader would be
out of office. I never said and do not believe
that a vote against President Bush is equivalent
to a vote for Adolf Hitler. The patriotism of
candidates and voters who oppose the
President is not in question," Congressman Cole
said.

snip
more at TPM

So now he only says that voting against aWol gives "comfort and strength" to "the United States' enemies around the world", but that this is not questioning anyone's patriotism!?!

And I hope there's a tape. I trust the reporter more than this scumbag.

My response to this bomb thrower? Throw bigger bombs! This administration has given Bin Laden all he ever wanted; increased hatred of America throughout the world and a real rise in his stature in the Middle East. Tell people why supporting * is hurting the "War on Terror."

33. Amen.
Mr. O. B. Laden has had it easy under aWol, who pulled the cruise missle-armed submarines off station, cancelled the Predator search for him, let him escape from Tora Bora/Khost, transferred our best special operators off the hunt for him to use them in his heinous war for oil, refused three times to approve military plans to attack his sympathizers in Iraq, and lied to start an unnecessary and costly war which enhances terrorist recruitment beyond Bin Laden's wildest dreams.

Bin Laden will be tickled pink if the stupidest President ever is reelected. But he would tremble at the prospect of a Kerry administration with Clark in it, who would track down and smoke his ass.

Cole must be a Bin Laden lap dog, and is probably raking in plenty of blood money off the war like so many of his fellow repukes.
