30 million dollars to the guy who turned in Saddam's son! Since when were we ever after Saddam's sons? Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't we offer Saddam to "go in peace" if he would just leave? 30 million and Bush* is now on vacation while millions of 'Muricans are out of work while Shrub promised not to stop until all who "wanted to work" could find work? 30 Million? How far would that go towards, well, whatever! Meanwhile, I catch the evening propaganda that Bush* is on his way to his "working" vacation at the "Western White House".................... :puke: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And while he maintains that his pig farm is the Western White House, it only means that us taxpayers get the priviledge of paying his property taxes and his upkeep! The Bushes only seek political office for one reason and one reason only! That is to keep from paying for anything personal and of course lining their own pockets with OPM! Where is the Outrage?

3. aren't they claiming we're using the dead boys' own money?
That they had 50 mil on 'em (or was that another lie along with the cologne, viagara, etc.---prolly was)

Either way, that's a drop in the bucket compared to the BILLIONS we're dumping into Iraq (ok, into the BFEE) each and every month.

So....does anyone know exactly WHERE that money is going?

4. Oh no, it's not you...I was wondering why no one else thought
that this was appalling! To be paying someone 15 million/head...:wtf:
Seems to me, like they were paying a lot of $ so they could look good and buy time. Not in my book!

5. Gee whiz...I bet ya...
that the 30 million recipient turns out to be someone who already has "ties" to US elites in the Administration---making some rich Iraqi richer and more entrenched as a US source...

Oh, and "not stopping until all who want to work have work???" that will be easily disposed of IF asked....we will hear that all who are unemployed DON'T WANT TO WORK. You know, they are the fabled people on the unemployment stats who "gave up looking for work" which, apart from the lucky souls in that category who have other means of support, are homeless or uneasily camping in the car or on a relatives sofa. The one desperate time I was unemployed (Reagan recession!) and ran out of unemployment, I always wondered if I ended up in that category when I heard it on the news. Of course, I hadn't and couldn't "give up" and no one ever asked me what happened to me after unemployment ran out---I was free to look at their listings but not to avail myself of the "counseling" which really had the few job listings so I'm sure I ended up on a "giving up" list...

BTW, anyone who believes "working vacation" is deluded. Even my freeperish neighbor doesn't believe it. The difference this year is that he and the wife think that their darling Chimp King should NOT have a month off...must be because his wife just got laid off....I helpfully reminded them that he's "working on fund raising"---they did not look happy but didn't fight for their boy as usual. Better pay attention to that George, these are your Texas rabid right wing religious wackos---lose them, you lose your throne!!!!

On that happy note, I'm going to have a beer!

8. How do we know if the guy is still alive?
He's not going to get one cent because the Bush Crime Cabal will kill him before he gets the cash and they will keep it themselves.

9. I'm with ya on this.
Just today I was working up some indignation about $30 million.

Why not $1 million? Why not $500,000?

Why that specific amount?

So, what would Saddam or Osama's hide be worth then? $100 million?

It's all nuts.

I'm not so sure the sons were killed in the way or at the time the guvt. said anyway. And, they won't say where the money goes? Are we really sure about any of this?

Or, is it just a PR ploy along with a mini-money laundering scheme?

10. They were targets from the outset
and were a required part of the 30 days notice given to Hussein.

Bounties are a time honored and successful means of getting what you need. If they work in roundig up Hussein too they will pay for themselves in what it takes to deal with those still trying to hold onto their old lives.

If it were not cost effective they would not do it.

11. I don't reguard SDI as money well spent
but Bush pushed his missle shield through any ways.

The military wastes plenty of money

12. and this pertains to bounties how ?
but to your point...

Much of the waste in the military is political in nature. They want to close unneeded bases, saves billions. No can do. Blue ribbon commissions agree, no can do.

Every single part of government wastes money. Much is political, much is incompetence. I don't care. Overhaul is needed but it will never happen.

If China throws ICBM's our way down the road, SDI may sound like a better idea. In fact, if all countries come to realize that missles won't work... ever... it might be a good thing for the world as a whole. And its impossible to guess the benefit that the research from this brings to the world.

13. It's not their money
So they don't care. Republicans love to take money that's not their's and give it to their buds, which includes supposed bounties.
