Rolling Thunder/VP Debate Road Show???
One of the greatest things to happen this election season, much to my surprise, was the positive response many people had to the Democratic debates. This drew a large number of moderates to hear what we had to say, created a media buzz that predominated the chattering class and began to erode the RoveCo. grip on the media.

Now, the media is chomping for Kerry to name a VP. Most the names thrown around are amusing...today the dimbulb CNN newsbabe threw out John McCain as being a Kerry running mate! Honestly, there are a lot of good candidates out there (I have my own picked and the name sealed in a jar on my back porch) and many different perspectives that each of those candidates have to offer.

I think it would be interesting to stage a series of town hall debates featuring prospective VP candidates similar to the Presidential ones. Here we could put the spotlight on the current Vice President along with providing additional voices in support of our common goal of regime change. Let's get Senators Graham, Edwards, Gov. Dean, Richardson, Rendell, Rep. Gephardt, Kucinich and Ford...along with Gen. Clark, Rev. Sharpton. This could be a revolving panel that holds another debate every two or three weeks (preferably in a RED area) that is televised (and orchestrated) by one of the major cable networks. I bet even Faux would play into this one just for playing "fair and balanced".

Personally, I feel Sen. Kerry doesn't need to name anyone before the Convention and the speculation game, if controlled, can keep interest in the Democratic party during the long months ahead. Any thoughts?

Cheers!

1. thanks for the reminder
i remember when there were so many debates and everyone laughing at the democrats and field and i was thinking i would like to hear from so many of these people and sharpton, gosh he just said it i loved it. and all dean and all of them brought. and it took a long time. and clearly saw a lot of manipulation in the media on candidate, a trial run for this election, and yes put a lot of ideas, i want/need town meetings, and show the reasonableness of discussion in democrat and looking at a candidate. at the time i thought this is how youa re suppose to do it, include the american people, not annoint from a few on the extreme right that brought bush and reagan in

i think this is just a perfectly easy, not depending on money and advertisement to elect kerry. that will also give the time on news dems seem not to be able to get, unless a running. and exactly for your reason

there may be a zillion things in htis cause it branches out in so many way, in grace. i like. spring is here, summer is coming. dems, lets just sit around and talk all this stuff in ease and grace, like sittin in the park with a 42 year old baptist conservative non news listeners. lol lol lol, as the kids play

cool
