"Military Vote for Bush Isn't a Sure Thing" (Detroit Freee Press)
"When the Bush campaign asked James McKinnon to cochair its veterans steering committee in New Hampshire -- a job he held in 2000 -- the 56-year-old Vietnam veteran respectfully, but firmly, said no.

"I basically told them I was disappointed in his support of veterans," said McKinnon, who served two tours in Vietnam with the Coast Guard. "He's killing the active-duty military. . . . Look at the reserves call-ups for Iraq, the hardships. The National Guard -- the state militia -- is being used improperly. I took the president at his word on Iraq, and now you can't find a single report to back up or substantiate weapons of mass destruction."

1. How about those reservist and NG
"But Bush campaign officials say they expect military voters to return to the fold because the president has delivered on his 2000 campaign promise to help the underfunded, underpaid armed forces"

who have lost homes and credit cards etc trying to live on their military pay for years at a time.

7. More lies?
"delivered on his 2000 campaign promise to help the underfunded, underpaid armed forces." Didn't the Liar "win" his wars with the *underfunded, underpaid armed forces*? Didn't the "new sheriff in town" also promise the military more time with their families? Didn't he also promise them he wouldn't deploy them all over the globe? I seem to recall something about no nation building, or some such shit outta the Liar's mouth.

2. searching cobwebs of brain
There was a news piece either this morning or yesterday that on one had tried to downplay things and say that only a small part of "military" disapproving of Bush, etc. but then said that there is a growing movement within family of military personnel. It had to do with the planned demonstrations, etc. I always said that unlike Nam where so many of the guys were single, this group of active and now the deployed Guard have young families and that once the glitter was off, the bodies came home, they weren't front page news any longer, that then you were going to hear the opposition. I hope a lot of these people wake up before Bush literally uses their kin to death.

3. That's for damn sure
I don't know any soldiers that like him. Especially when I know some National Guard troops that are being sent out for two year deployments. I know for a fact that my marriage would not last through a 24 month deployment... and my husband is active duty. It barely made it through the last 10 month deployment. No one my husband is serving with will vote for him.

4. I'm retired Navy
I will never vote for a republican. On Defense and National Security issues, I am a hawk, however, george bush is a moron who has no concept of national defense or our security. And he wants to fuck our veterans and disabled vets so his millionaire chickenhawk buddies like limbaugh can get a tax break. I'm looking at the shadowbox which contains my 24 years of memories. I didn't serve so scum like racicot, gillespie, carlson ad infinitum can fuck with our constitution. IF YOU ARE A VETERAN, VOTE AGAINST BUSH, cause he don't give a flying dog fuck about you.

6. Just using the military on anyone. Is not strong on national security.
JUst like killing more felons isnt being tough on crime.
Just like cutting taxes isnt helping the economy.

Its hard to find anything that republicans are good at in actuality.
