Sen. Kerry should go to Canton, Ohio pronto................ |
|
to take advantage of this situation......
From Atrios.........
"On April 24, 2003, President Bush traveled to Timken Company’s Canton plant to promote his tax plan. In a speech to workers, he promised that the tax cut plan “means more money for investments, more money for growth and more money for jobs.”
According to Reuters, the Chairman of Timken Company, W.R. Timken, made $2.62 million in 2003, clearly placing him in the wealthiest one percent of Americans.
Two months later, W.R. Timken co-hosted a fundraiser for Bush’s campaign in Akron which raised $600,000, and earned Timken ‘Ranger’ status (for those who raise more than $200,000 for the campaign).
Then, in September last year, Timken Company announced it was laying off 700 workers, adding more pain to one of the jobless recovery's most hardest-hit states."
Sen. Kerry should get a few hundred of the laid off Timken workers to stand behind while he points out the damage the AWOL tax cuts have wrought on this country while helping only the rich........... who, BTW, in this situation, is also a big AWOL contributor.
What an opportunity!

just show that the tax cuts haven't done anything to help as * has promised so often. Kerry can just reiterate that tax cuts are not the same as a jobs policy. Bush offers tax cuts to the wealthy and no jobs ploicy for the rest of us.

if he can't show the cuts hurt...as opposed to just didn't help...and the easy response would be to say there would have been 800 layoffs without the tax cuts

Do you know if there is an address where someone on the
campaign will give serious consideration to a suggestion like
this?

6. Clark will be stumping for Kerry in Ohio this week. |
|
...I am certain that the Kerry campaign will have lots of Clark and other surrogates, and Kerry visits, over the next several months.
Ohio is absolutely winnable: Job losses, poor economy, heavy veteran population that is getting screwed, and an education infrastructure that is suffering.

10. Just think, former DUer Jeff Seemann could be up there with him |
|
The late, lamented AWD is running for Congress from Ohio's 16th District, centered in Canton. His opponent, the aptly named Ralph :puke: Regula, is an entrenched Repuke incumbent, and thus most likely a Timken waterboy.

13. Will Pitt says he wasn't fired. Are you calling him a liar? |
|
I know Will got teased a bit on this subject, but in general people took his word for it when he said he was not fired. So why are you saying he was, and blaming someone for it?
I don't know what your aggenda is here, but this board has always been a place to promote democrats in politics. Do you want people getting the idea, that because of message board games, the democratic candidate for congress was harrased on DU? As far as I know you and Jeff never had any kind of dispute, unless it was the mistaken notion on your part that a candidate for Congress shouldn't greet and do appearances with whatever democratic nominees for Pres or Senate might come throught their district. Just because you threw a fit about it doesn't mean that isn't how the game is played.

19. I did not call anyone a liar |
|
The quote was from Jeff Seemann. He is the one who claims the emails he inspired and provided "private" addresses for (the "top" people") were somehow responsible for what happened at the Kucinich campaign. I have copies of the original documentation. Of course after the board went "public", Jeff posted that he needed to go back through his old posts to remove anything that might be "damaging to his campaign", and admin stepped forward to offer their full support. So, could be the admin at that site has been busy scrubbing posts all day. I already had copies.
I didn't throw a fit about anything of the such. I do, however, have a copy of a post from ANOTHER member (who no longer posts there) who said Jeff's comments regarding endorsing whoever he is onstage with would disqualify him from getting this person's vote. Not my words, but interesting all the same. Guess I'm not the only one who finds duplicity in a Democratic candidate who claims to be part of the Howard Dean Movement distasteful. I'm just the only one, so far, who is willing to make it public.
When I pointed out that Jeff had run perfectly fine progressives off from the other forum, I was called a liar. Didn't matter that I had the proof. No one seems to care that I'm telling the truth now, either.
I already told you my agenda when you pm'd me. Expose the truth about Jeff Seemann. I'm sure some Democrats don't mind his methods. Obviously, others do.

Three posts to ATA don't qualify? I think there may be an effort to get this thread deleted too. It doesn't matter. Other venues are being used as well. If there is anything I can do to alert interested parties to what "campaign methods" Jeff Seemann is using, and his total lack of qualifications, be assured, I will pursue it.

21. I did my own research |
|
You still have access to the private "Inner Circle", don't you? You can find it, assuming Jeff hasn't finally started that house cleaning he said he needed to do. That was his own admission that he had written things that could be "damaging" to his campaign, and they should be removed before the *wrong* people could get the *right* idea about him.
I witnessed all the behind the scenes manipulation I could personally bear. I don't approve of playing people for fools.
People can stop posting pro-Jeff, anti-DU threads anytime. I never start these threads.

drfemoe, what is the problem? Jeff was motivated to run as part of the movement to take our country back, remember? It is a noble calling, something DU evidently at one time sought to encourage--active participation of the citizenry. It takes courage and commitment and risk.
So quit your grandstanding and your petty little vendetta. The irony is that it was you above all others who objected to a more inclusive membership policy--arguing that it would be risky--others couldn't be trusted. I suppose all that dirt could be put on public display. Wouldn't that be irony?
In any event, despite our differences, most would support a political bid of, say, Will Pitt, and be willing to get behind his efforts rather than crushing his noble objectives with petty and mean-spirited gossip.
