Bush cannot criticize Kerry for his past votes..
I heard him with my OWN ears, and he is constantly saying that "9-11 changed everything", so by his OWN logic, Kerry cannot legitimately be criticized for votes affectin the military if it happened before 9-11..

Careful, chimpo.. your words can define you as well..

1. your logic is flawed (IMO)
it's valid to criticize a past vote based on circumstances at the time the vote was cast...changes to circumstances after the vote don't put the vote off limits...Kerry should defend his votes..

2. Yes, but then he can't criticize "flip-flops".
For the world is different now, according to Gump.

3. I see...maybe...
depends on the issue...but on any inconsistency since 9-11-4 Kerry still has issues...

4. The point is, IMHO,
that change happens. Big and small. You adapt or you go to the dustbin. I tend to think Kerry's "changes" are mostly the result of new information and experience rather than political pandering. Maybe I'm wrong.

5. That was my point

Bush's flunkies are out there saying stuff like "..In 1995 Kerry voted........blahblahblah...".. But when anyone questions the "puppet's" flip-flops, the stock answer is ..."EVERYTHING CHANGED ON 9-11" <so anything that happened before is "gone">

Cannot have it both ways.... Kerry would not have known in 1995 , about something that would happen 6 years into the future.. anymore that Bush could have predicted when he was sprawled out, drunk behind a couch, that he would someday actually be a governor or president..

6. Sure he can
Bush* does not have to accept your reasoning. This campaign is going to get very nasty, very fast. It won't all be coming from Republicans, either.

7. What is good for the goose.
If Kerry's proposal (remember, he could not find any cosponsors to pursue it to a vote) to reduce intelligence spending in 1995 counts, then Bush's budget proposal (actual submittal) to reduce intelligence spending in 2001 counts.

8. Kerry voted against the 87 Billion because
8 million went to Jebbie
and about 3 million went to Rummy to do w/ as he pleases. Randi Rhodes talked about this on her show yesterday. It could be billions, not millions (sorry it this is the case)

As far as accusing Kerry of cutting defense, intellience spending, read this for the truth. Bush Sr. was for this!

John Kerry's Defense Defense
Against defense? Not Kerry

Before George W. Bush's political operatives started pounding on John Kerry for voting against certain weapons systems during his years in the Senate, they should have taken a look at this quotation:

After completing 20 planes for which we have begun procurement, we will shut down further production of the B-2 bomber. We will cancel the small ICBM program. We will cease production of new warheads for our sea-based ballistic missiles. We will stop all new production of the Peacekeeper missile. And we will not purchase any more advanced cruise missiles. … The reductions I have approved will save us an additional $50 billion over the next five years. By 1997 we will have cut defense by 30 percent since I took office.

The speaker was President George H.W. Bush, the current president's father, in his State of the Union address on Jan. 28, 1992.

* is such a liar and I hope Kerry fights back w/ this.
