I can vouch for Ashraf because my Uncle has and he was very much against this marriage at the start. I have seen Ashraf with his family and he is definately an American hands on kind of Dad.
What if you were told you could lose your kids if you did not lie about your loved one? So far Michele has stayed off of welfare but it gets harder with each passing month. She helped set up and coordinate some relief effots during the Kobe earthquake while a student there. When this happened she had completed her BS in pre-med and had been accepted for paid training as an EMT in her community. The arrest of Ashraf changed all that. His Jewish employer did not believe that he was any threat. It takes a lot of courage, money and sacrifice to stand up directly to the BFEE. If you can help please help. If we don't help stop this miscarriage of justice now the next time it could be someone you know,or me or you.
http://www.helpashraf.com/Ashraf Al-Jailani has been held in jail for over a year and a half in York, PA. His only crime is that he is from Yemen (an Arab) and that he's Muslim. On Oct. 23, 2002, the INS and FBI arrested Ashraf at work. He was the only one working to support the family, so the arrest left his wife and three small children without an income.
The FBI said they thought Ashraf was connected to Al-Qaeda. They said they arrested some man in New York who was supposedly connected to Al-Qaeda. When they arrested this man, they found Ashraf's business card in this man's wallet. Well, Ashraf had been applying for a job and was sending resumes and business cards all over the country. Just because this man had Ashraf's business card doesn't mean that Ashraf knew this man.
Things got REAL tough for me, Ashraf's wife, once Ashraf was gone. The FBI continued coming to my house over and over during the months that followed. In June, I got severely depressed. On June 2, 2003, 4 cops knocked at my door. I let them in. They said, "We have information that you're severely despressed. We need to take you to the hospital. You can either come with us, or we can put you in handcuffs and take you that way." I said, "I can't go with you. I have three small children sleeping upstairs," They said, "We have two children's services workers outside who are going to take care of your children." They took me to the hospital, and they put my kids in foster care.
I just recently regained custody of my children, thank God. I am grateful for that, and so are they.
