Dean's New Austin, TX ad
I've been gone all weekend so I hope this isn't a dupe. For those of you who haven't heard/read about this, the Dean campaign is running this ad to be played in Austin, TX, about 85-or-so miles from Crawford, TX where Our Great Leader* will be taking a well-earned vacation from his grueling 5-hour-a-day work schedule.

1. Excellente!
Speaking of Spanish, Dean and Company have Spanish translated sites going up too.
I was so excited I made my hubby come and watch the Austin "In your face" ad.

Go Dean, he steps up - in Dumbya's face!! Love it.

10. I just had a thought because of what you said!

2. Thanks!
I agree with what someone else said on another thread...he could be a bit less stiff. But on the whole, great.

3. I can only get the audio - video not working for me
But I do have an audio criticism...

Why does he say "I'm running for president and I approved this message because I want to change George Bush's reckless foreign policy..."

Why not simply say "I'm running for president because I want to change George Bush's reckless foreign policy..."

The phrase "and I approved this message" is silly.

6. They have to use that phrase as part ofo McCain/Feingold.
There must be another way to say that, but no one's found that other way yet. Not a big deal, IMO.

4. Why doesn't he just use speech clips?
Maybe because this is a sort of introductory ad, but why doesn't he use some of that firebrand speech stuff and at the end give that spiel? This one is better than the Iowa one, particularly the end, but the 'fire' is just not there.

LOL, as a supporter of someone else that's cool with me, but having taken as many speech classes as I have, it bothers me, LOL. This is meant as constructive criticism, that's all.

7. He needs to smile more.
Otherwise it is not a bad ad. It looks pretty plain; perhaps that is what they are going for. Many are trying to label Dean as "Mr. Angry."
