At the paint store in Brevard ... painter vents against Bu$h. |
|
I was there to buy some Kilz. He was there to buy paint. He mentioned a desire to move to Tennessee, where land is cheaper. I said I had just moved to NC from Texas where property taxes were onerous. On the mention of Texas, the painter (Micky) looked at me and asked:
"Can this country stand four more years of George Bu$h?"
Needless to say, it was a love fest from there on. Ends up the guy had a masters degree. He was painting houses because he had lost his job two years ago. I told him about DU (and Buzzflash, Bartcop, TPM, and a few other sites). Working people are getting the message. They are tired of the tax breaks for the rich, while their families are hurting badly.

1. Believe me, Bush is pissing off everybody! |
|
On a few of the muscle-car forums I'm regularly on, there are folks who just can't stand the guy.
We're talking forums that once were a conservative's mecca. I nearly disowned one of my favorite hobbies during the 2000 election. Now it's turned around 180º in terms of support for Bush and republicans. Not saying everybody out there is a confirmed liberal, but there's a lot of "no way in hell, am I voting for Bush" out there, on non-political forums and in real-life.

2. Kerry is conservative enough for some 2000 Bush voters |
|
and that all it will take. If we have an election that is.

3. Bush is ruining it for all Texans. If you're a Texan with.. |
|
political aspirations you'd better launch them from another state. It will be generations before America ever considers having another Texan as president.

4. Last three "big" wars that the US has been in were launched by Texans: |
|
1. Vietnam: Launched by LBJ with the Tonkin Gulf Resolution of August, 1964.
2. Gulf War: Launched by CIA-insider George H.W. Bu$h after goading Saddam Hussein to invade Kuwait.
3. Attack Against Iraq: Bu$h II's bizarre, ever-changing rationale brought us into this hell-hole, where over 550 US soldiers have died.

5. It will be gratifying enough if bush just ruins it for all future bushes. |
|
Because you know deep down that jebbie is thinking about the White House for himself, probably at least a few dozen times a day.

6. I think people are sick of the Bu$h$ |
|
I think the message will be loud-and-clear in November. Barring no further LIHOP, or that kind of crap, I look for a 57% victory by the Kerry ticket in November. Maybe higher. That should screw-the-pooch for future Bu$h$.

15. I'm sure Jeb 2008 was part of the Republican plan.... |
|
but after George I(one term) and George II(one term!), I'm pretty sure they won't want to take the chance on another Bush, for which we can all be thankful!

12. Hey! Maybe we can give Texas back its independence. |
|
Build a big fence along the borders. Let all the people who want to choke on pollution and misundereducate kids move there.

There are a lot of folks like that. Just regular working people who are tired of being screwed and being lied to.
