How nasty is this campaign going to get?
We all know that this is probably going to be the most vicious presidential campaign in american history. :( Just what does that really mean? What will be said and done? Will it turn voters off?

Anyone care to speculate?

2. This has been the most vicious
decade in American history. How could it get more so?

7. oh, it could be more so...
just wait until the religious right starts rounding up independent thinkers (like myself) and starts exiling or exterminating us.

Think I'm over-reacting? If the Mad Chimp wins this year, just wait and see. :scared:

3. It's already nasty
Bush is already lying and distorting Kerry's record, and Bush's surrogates are shamelessly slandering Kerry's past.

I think it is already clear what is in store. The Bushies are desperate and it's going to be more of the same for the next 8 months.

Yes, it will probably turn off some indecisive voters, but it won't turn off those of us dedicated to removing Bush from office, so it won't help Bush keep his job in the end.

4. It Means We Will Be Lied To
First the opposition will find out every detail of our nominees past, and I mean every single detail. If there are any parts where evidence of an activity should exits but doesn't, like Bush's AWOL, that will be looked at as evidence of any misdeed that can be immagined. Every single vote Kerry ever cast will be examined in light not of what the vote was for but for what spin can be put on it. There will also be the attacks from invisible sources. These will be the personal ones, the alleged old girlfrind who had an abortion, or the child out of wedlock, drug use in the family, unsavory financial deals (sounds like a Bush family history doesn't it?). And after all that is said and done there won't be any time for a discussion of the issues of the day, and that lack of discussion will suit Bu$h just fine too. That is what you can expect.

5. The voters will be turned off, alright - the Bushies will manipulate this.
I do not believe in any way, shape or form that the Bushies will ever allow this election to jeopardize their power. They will do whatever it takes to retain power, from a "timely" invasion to scare the American people to working with Diebold and GOP secretaries of state in the states to fix the election to outright declaration of martial law.

6. Gird your loins!
The battle for America is about to begin-the people are finally starting to pay attention to policy so the evil GOP will use catch phrases and personal attacks to deceive so they can do in the words of my favorite media phrase "change the discussion". Its hate already-attack Kerry for being rich (excuse me Kettle calling pot..) that is a classic example of not talking issues. Drudge the slug doing the intern routine-God forbid you talk about issues-this will be bad, bad bad-they are even trying to find Bin Laden now-new sense of urgency in the hunt (gee I thought 9/11 gave us a sense of urgency?)This time we hit back with reason and votes and we send them packing!

8. The degree of venom will be proportional to the desperation of BFEE.
And we all know the Shit-for-Brains campaign is in a tailspin already. Expect anything from these weasels. Don't put anything past them. Look for their most underhanded tricks in the last two weeks of the campaign.
