Powell gave the mandatory "That's what we believed, the intelligence was not cooked" boilerplate answer. (One wag over at Democratic Underground said that's true -- they selected "raw" intelligence that had not been subject to proper review and voilà! WMDs in Iraq)

I've been congratulated on inventing the word "gobsmacked" (which I didn't) and asked what "dog's breakfast" means (horrible mixed-up mess resembling the combo of discarded food and vomit that dogs ate off public sidewalks on the morning after).
