"The anti-Christ will be a homosexual.”
Edited on Mon Mar-15-04 01:31 AM by Stone_Spirits
“In the last days before Jesus comes back to get his children, that wickedness will spread. People will be lovers of own self more then lovers of god. There will be seven years of tribulation. There will be an anti-Christ that will rule the world. The anti-Christ will be a homosexual.”

—Pastor Lewis O. Bartlett , Swannanoa Valley Missionary Baptist Church speaking at the ‘Sanctity of Marriage’ rally, Mar. 6th in Asheville, NC

24. um, do you like Flannery O'Connor?
I'm really not that familiar with the work of O'Connor, but there a lot of Southern writers that I admire.

I'm sorry if I sounded like a bitch, but I get depressed by the Southern bashing that goes on here. Thankfully, it seems to have receded a bit recently.

40. Treat yourself...
I'm really not that familiar with the work of O'Connor, but there a lot of Southern writers that I admire.

Flannery O'Connor was trying to show the hypocrisy that she saw in the South. You might not enjoy reading her short stories because her characters are not likeable people, but she had a really good eye.

http://www.kirjasto.sci.fi/flannery.htm
"Along with authors like Carson McCullers and Eudora
Welty, Flannery O'Connor belonged to the Southern Gothic tradition that
focused on the decaying South and its damned people. O'Connor's body of
work was small, consisting of only thirty-one stories, two novels, and some
speeches and letters."

It is flawed logic and really a rather bigoted viewpoint. Why not just geographically "profile"?

Oh that's right. It's just a joke. No offense intended?

of people came out to oppose these bigots.
They spent time organizing their 'rally'. We just showed up by word of mouth.
There is a very strange culture clash in the Asheville area.

20. I really don't know who first said it.
It was commonly said around me and other girls when I was growing up after WWII and the fifties. The women involved, oh Eleanor Roosevelt and an early Congresswoman, whose name I can't remember except the fact that she wore big hats and many others whom I secretely admired but I couldn't say so. Believe me britches became a feminist cause with me. If you would like, I will tell you how I was the first woman to wear pants to work at Sears but not tonight because I have to sign off and help my husband to bed. Cheers.

I was only asking for a quote because it would be a good thing to offer back against the gay marriage bigotry. If you had a direct quote with a name we could throw it in their faces. But you're saying it waa a more generalized kind of sentiment - they all said it.

64. when I was a teen I wore jeans - boys jeans - they didn't make girls or

women's jeans then, just boys and men. and only one type of jeans. very thick. after washing these jeans you could practically make them stand up by themselves. and they shrunk a little in drying (on clothes lines - way before everyone had dryers). when you put them on had to lie on the bed to zip them up and then do squats to stretch them out. but they lasted for yrs. and yrs.

I was called a tomboy. (and called crazy, which is a common mcp thing to do)

he never married, hung around with twelve guys, and was always talking about "loving your brother" . . . and if that's the case, then the anti-Christ would probably be a heterosexual, don't you think? . . .

31. There is some evidence to suggest that Jesus and Mary Magdalene...
were gettin' down. And no, this isn't from "The DaVinci Code", though that (fiction) book dealt with it.

In one of the gnostic gospels, one of Jesus' disciples complains about how Jesus is always making out with Mary and not spending enough time with them.

46. This makes Bush a prime suspect
Edited on Mon Mar-15-04 03:05 PM by 9215
Somebody on this board mentioned something about Bush having a "boyfriend", forgot his name, but it sure would be interesting to see how the cons react to this.

Plus its alot easier than trying all the numerology stuff that loses most people after the first few paragraphs. For those of you interested here you go. I was working on this ((most serious)) of topics some time ago.

As each generation passes a new antichrist is born matures and dies. Each generation is responsible for keeping a vigil against the moral vicissitudes of its age. In the topic 'Reagan is the antichrist' the evidence was set forth to support that contention. As the Gipper rides off into the sunset the new antichrist is GW. Bush. If the antichrist pops up repeatedly in the con (short for conservative) camp it is also a strong argument for Christ being a liberal. Christ a liberal, the anti-christ is....a conservative, makes sense doesn't it.

Note: Ronald Wilson Reagan was an antichrist. Notice that there are six letters in his first, middle and last names--666--the mark of the beast!!

The following information can be found at www.geocities.com/trebor_92617/ Bush.html
Nice Guy? or the Devil's Spawn? He snorted cocaine ... He dodged the draft....His friends knew him as an alcoholic womanizer with a bad temper....a failure at business until his wealthy friends rescued him......then recently he was elected Governor of Texas.........he still couldn't think his way out of a burning phone booth without the advice of his staff .....and yet suddenly he's become our most celebrated presidential candidate, with the Republican nomination all but sewn up before a single ballot has been cast .... ....... How has He done it? I submit that George Walker Bush is the And finally I have accumulated more-than-enough proof! How do you explain the phenomenal political success of one of this country's least experienced and least intelligent politicians? There are only a few possible explanations: George Bush is a tool of Wealthy Corporate Fatcats (Mammon = Satan) George Bush has sold his soul to Satan in return for political success. America is devolving to monarchy, and looking for another dimwitted King George to crown. George Bush is the Antichrist. All Of The Above In view of all the facts, the last answer seems most plausible to me -- and perhaps after looking at the following evidence you too will agree. The Evidence: Let's look at exhibit #1: The Number of the Beast The Bible shows us a way to prove whether or not a person is the Antichrist, through numerology. Rev 13:18 says: "Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." That is, the number 666. The way biblical scholars and numerologists convert the names of men into numbers is through a simple numerical code. Let's assign the 26 letters of the alphabet the numbers 1 through 26. It looks like this:
a 1 i 9 q 17 y 25
b 2 j 10 r 18 z 26
c 3 k 11 s 19
d 4 l 12 t 20
e 5 m 13 u 21
f 6 n 14 v 22
g 7 o 15 w 23
h 8 p 16 x 24
Now if you add up the numbers of his name, George Walker Bush, according to the table above you get 7+5+15+18+7+5 for George, +23+1+12+11+5+18 for Walker, and +2+21+19+8 for Bush, which all adds up to a total of 177 = 1+7+7 = 15 = 1+5 = 6. That's our first six.. Mr. Bush was born July 6, 1946. So if you add up all the digits in his date of birth you get 7+6+1+9+4+6 = 33 = 3+3 = 6. There - now we have our second six. The antichrist's first step in his goal of attaining complete world domination for Satan, was achieved on that fateful day Bush was first elected governor of Texas - his first elected office - on November 8, 1994. Again, just by adding up the digits we get 1+1+8+1+9+9+4 = 33 = 3+3 = 6. The third six. So there you have it folks - 666 - the number of the Beast. (Note: Ever wonder why George Herbert Walker Bush Sr. left the 'Herbert' out when naming his son? Was it a crafty way of dedicating his firstborn son to Satan? George = six letters, Walker = six letters, and BushJr = six letters. = 666. Once again, the number of the beast!) Still not convinced? Just some fantastic coincidence? Well, there's an old saying:

"You know a man by the company he keeps....... The Bush Witch Project Exhibit 2: Bush recently attended a Satanic rally <http://www.religioustolerance.org/satanism.htm> in New Hampshire. It was an event covered-up by the corporate media - an abhorrent gathering of witches, warlocks and demons from all over New England, gathered together to celebrate the long anticipated ascension of a Republican AntiChrist . Here he is warmly shaking hands with one of his devoted 'supporters'. Hey! - she looks like Monica Lewinsky, huh? And they seem like they know each other. <wink wink> Now, how would you like to keep seeing this picture for an entire year on TV, in the event Mr. Bush is elected? Notice the "Satan Loves Bush" and "Evil Supports Bush" placards in the background? What exactly does that tell you? The Satanic Bush Verses Exhibit 3: The following was obtained from a secret packet of motivational material sent out to the 'Pioneers' <http://www.tpj.org/data/pioneers.html>, an elite group of wealthy fundraisers/Satanists charged with the task of raising the money to fuel the Bush juggernaut. "13. And it came to pass in those days, that Republicans were sore afraid, inasmuch as their attempts to overthrow the lawfully elected president were stymied, and the people smote them in the off-year election, verily their speaker resigned in disgrace. 14. So they sought out Pat Robertson <http://www.democrats.org/features/campaign2000/voterguide/index.html>, that he should entreat his god Mammon (that is, Satan) to anoint a Republican King. "
15. And Satan answereth, saying unto Pat: "Go ye down to Austin, even all the wealthy elite with their checkbooks, and there ye shall find Bush, son of Bush - perchance ye shall restore him to the father's throne." 16. But Pat answereth his god, saying: "Can any good thing come out of Texas? For we know all about this man, how he was a drunk and drug user, a coward who avoided the draft, a bad-tempered man, given to whoring about.... But what has he done for us lately?" 17. Satan saith: "Surely thou hast heard it said that ' for every youthful indiscretion, there's an onngoing cover-up '? Is not Texas a model of pollution, poverty and ignorance?" 18. But still Pat entreateth with the Devil to anoint Jeb instead - seeing as his wife was already a potential drug smuggler. 19. But the Devil answereth hotly, "Why doest thou tempt me, Pat? Are elections not carried by money and guile? Therefore, since Republicans are burning with greed, preferring money to their own liberty, therefore I gave you the hot-tempered, lustily burning Bush. Now get out of here and go fleece some more Christians before I snag your African diamond mine <http://home.fiberia.com/fe034acdff098345bd003ecf09a0b6/newsodom/080899/080899-8.html>." 20. Pat wept. "21. Then all the nobles and wealthy men, the Congressmen and Republican party functionaries, corporate executives and leaders of the right-wing church, all journeyed down to Austin bearing gifts, that they might praise Satan's anointed Republican King, and avoid a bruising primary battle. 22. And so it came to pass in those days, that the political influence of the rich and greedy came to rest upon a man of their own class, a man known for his crooked business dealings <http://www.georgebush2000.com/>, in order that he might finish the work of Reagan: to vanquish mercy with charm, and establish Satan's power invincible." Biblical Warnings About Bush Exhibit 4: Important scriptural clues concerning the identity of the AntiChrist:
Rev 9:1 I saw a star fall from heaven unto earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. When Satan was cast down from the heavens, he came down to earth like a fallen and solitary star. Texas is know as the 'lone star state', and the 'bottomless pit', of course, refers to what passes for hell on earth - the hopeless pit of poverty. Texas has one of the nation's highest rates of child poverty - 26.2%; the highest rate of citizens without any health insurance <http://www.familiesusa.org/kidtex.htm> - 24.5%; and a recent Department of Agriculture study says that 5% of Texas households sometimes go without any food <http://www.star-telegram.com/news/doc/1047/1:FRONT63/1:FRONT63121899.html> at all. Yet Texas has the most regressive tax structure and spends the least per capita on social services than any state in the union. As governor for the last five years, Mr. Bush has had the key in his hand that could have helped open the door out of poverty for millions of Texans, but instead he prided himself in building a record of cutting taxes for Texas' wealthiest citizens and campaign contributors.
Rev 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

This refers to Mr. Bush's roll as the bloodiest governor <http://members.xoom.com/ccadp/serialpresident.htm> in the nation. Texas has the nations highest rate of incarceration, and executes far more prisoners than any other state, (Texas is also the first state to have more people die from gunshot wounds than automobile accidents, and the murder rate is above the national average - so much for deterrence). In Texas, an African-American convicted of killing a white is 6 times more likely to receive the death penalty than in the reverse case. When a sincere Christian named Karla Faye Tucker <http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/Canopy/2525/karlamain.html> begged for mercy, so that she might continue her ministry in prison, Gov Bush is reported to have mocked and laughed at her anguished pleas. She became the first woman to be executed in Texas since the Civil War. While at the same time he spared the life of the infamous, self-confessed child molester and mass-murdering (200+) Satanist and serial killer Henry Lee Lukas <http://crimelibrary.com/serial2/lucas/> - the only death-row inmate ever to earn clemency from Bush.
Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation ...standing where it ought not...flee.

The "abomination of desolation" refers to the obscene wave of gun violence now sweeping across our country. Bush has now even signed a law <http://www.democrats.org/news/sb1999/sb101299.html> allowing gun owners to bring their guns into a church. In doing so, he's allowing a symbol of violence and death to be brought into a sacred house of worship - where it ought not to be. He's also signed legislation to prohibit Texas cities and counties from suing firearm or ammunition makers or sellers. And he refused to require background checks at gun shows -- despite repeated requests from the police chiefs of the seven largest cities in his state. He defends all his pro-gun actions by saying that, ""I support the Second Amendment.", even though the overwhelming majority of federal courts have ruled against the NRA's interpretation <http://www.gunfree.org/csgv/bsc_3my.htm> of the Second Amendment.

Rev 9:2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke from the pit.

Because of Gov Bush's campaign to make air pollution regulations voluntary rather than mandatory, Texas now ranks first in the nation in toxic air emissions from industrial facilities, discharging over 100 million pounds of cancer causing pollutants and other contaminants into the air annually. Bush also helped overturn a viable auto-emissions testing program in favor of one that costs more, tests less accurately and is easier to evade. Houston has just become home to the dirtiest air in the nation <http://lists.sierraclub.org/SCRIPTS/WA.EXE?A2=ind9912&L=ce-scnews-releases&F=&S=&P=78>, outranking Los Angeles. And the non-partisan League of Conservation Voters <http://www.lcv.org/presidential/bush.htm>recently called him the "biggest threat to the environment of any leading major party presidential candidate."

Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies;

"There Ought to be Limits to Freedom!" <http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Embassy/3137/limits_to_freedom.mp3> That's what the governor said after looking at another website parody, created by Zack Exley at www.gwbush.com <http://www.gwbush.com>. Then he sicked his lawyers on the guy and tried to censor free speech on the internet. (The governor has also had Texas citizens forcibly removed and jailed for peacefully protesting on the public sidewalk in front of the Governor's Mansion. The protesters have since taken the governor to court to defend their First Amendment rights.)
Lastly, exhibit 5: The Mother Of the Beast: Rev 17:4 And the woman <http://www.thegrid.net/thebicyclingguitarist/songs/barbara.htm> was arrayed in purple color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations....and I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints.

51. It is from one of the verses
I cannot find my Bible, but it said that the anti Christ will not be interested in women.
By a different formuala by Jack VanImpe, a=6, b=12, c=18, ect., my maiden name with middle initial adds up to 666. I've always been afraid of being the betrayer and felt bad for Judas because of that. Oh well, you would have thought that 666 would be based upon Hebrew or some other Biblical language, not modern English.

53. Pastor Lewis O. Bartlett is a sock puppet
Sometimes I think that these Christian leaders are on some kind of secret neo-con psy-ops mailing list and are given carefully scripted talking points to deliver to their congregations.

What better place to launch campaigns of disinformation far from the scrutiny of the news media and educated well-informed citizens who might put a stop to it? What better way to politically cement all the nonexistent connections between 9/11 and Saddam Husein, George Bush's holy war and the second cumming of Jeezuz, liberals and all other godless commie sodomites, and so on up the growing garbage heap of political lies and religious bullshit that manufactures consent for this murderous American President and the cabal that created him?

When is someone going to investigate these religious leaders and find out how this entire segment of our population seems to be utterly manipulated en masse from the pulpit?
