1. I emailed him the Conservative Idiots list for the week
and I encourage everyone from DU to send a copy to him. But I think he's trying to get back to what the program really is about.

sternshow@howardstern.com

There is his email address

2. I urge people not to e-mail him unless they have a new idea or strategy
or something like that. Otherwise you're just making people who have such e-mails less of a chance of Fred reading them.

3. Howard met with Sirius last week
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,114174,00.html

excerpt:
Is Howard Stern getting serious, I mean, Sirius? I'm told that Stern visited the offices of Sirius, the satellite radio company, late last week and talked about moving his show onto their system. This would be a brilliant answer to Stern's current problems since he was bounced from six of Clear Channel's major stations for "indecency" on Feb. 25. His show, thankfully, still runs on stations that belong to Infinity Broadcasting, Stern's syndicator. But Stern has voiced worry that even Infinity will eventually bow to FCC fines and terminate him. Satellite radio is not covered by the FCC or its regulations.

This would be quite a leap forward for Sirius, which prides itself on innovative programming. For example, it recently added a whole channel hosted and produced by Steve van Zandt, of Bruce Springsteen and "Sopranos" fame, to its roster. Van Zandt's channel is based on his syndicated "Underground Garage" show.

4. A listener had a good idea. He donated $25 on JohnKerry.com
and on occupation he filled out electrician/Howard Stern fan

Howard urged others to do the same, so the JK campaign knows who the money is coming from

11. That's why I refuse to subscribe to this sort of thing.
Like cable, it will all wind up in the hands of the VRWF, with Rupert Murdoch getting a humongous slice. The more moderate stuff will go out the window, and all there will be left is 200 different flavors of ClearChannel.

9. I disagree. Maher was good, but not great.
You need a token conservative whacko. You just do. The best Real Time eps have had one member of the VRWF (Ann Coulter does nicely), one "raving lefty", and one sensible centrist on the panel. They are usually arranged so that the centrist sits in the middle chair (poor bastard). The bet is over which side the centrist winds up on at the end of the hour, and since the right-wing loony is usually the most offensive member of the panel, there is usually no contest.

This week was left-center-Carlin (who defies classification). Not so good, although even mediocre Bill Maher is better than 99.999% of everything else on TV apart from The Sopranos.
