that should be blatantly obvious, but I want something to show the next time some Freeper claims the Democrats are "the anti-Christian party"

1. Most Americans are Christians
Therefore, most Democrats are Christians by proxy

2. Don't get too involved in that sort of debate.

By debating it, you give it credibility. In face to face discussions with an audience that really requires a response from you, act politely hurt and insulted. Make it clear you won't sink to their level. If there is no swayable audience that requires your reaction, ignore it.

What a disgustingly blasphemous misuse of religion.

3. I don't consider myself to be "Christian" but I follow the words of Christ
at least about how to treat your fellow man. I don't subscribe to all the God stuff but the other stuff is just plain common decency IMHO. I believe strongly that You do onto others what you wish done to yourself. I also believe in Kharma.

6. WORD UP
"...I follow the words of Christ"

Things like that always sound so nice, until you say them to someone that actually knows what is in the bible

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, and wife and children, and and brothers and sisters, yes even his own life, he cannot be my disciple" Luke 14:26

"Do not think that I have come to send peace upon the earth; I have come to bring the sword, not peace"... "I have come to set man at variance with his father, and a daughter with her mother, and a daughter in-law with her mother in-law; and a man's enemies will be those of his own household" Matt 10:34-36

Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: Luke 12:51

"But for these very enemies, who did not want me to be king over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence" Luke 19:27

4. Some easy math will do ya
Find out the number of christians in the country, even if all repubs are christian, which is certainly not true, there are still more than enough christians left over to be a majority of the dem party.

5. Which Christian
The best way to handle it is to ask them to define what a Christian is, how to tell exactly who is and who is not. And then ask how they know/ what valid reference they can supply/ use. The question is meaningless until you can agree on what/ who is and what/ who is not.

Anyone can always claim the other one isn't a Christian if it is convenient because of what they did. No matter which side of ANY issue.

Are Catholics Christian? To a Catholic the answer is naturally YES. But many Protestant, especially Evangelical groups would argue otherwise.

7. You are right, Fringe! I know many Jews who are more "christian" than
many self-proclaimed "Christians."
