Germans to Bush: keep off our moon rock
Germans to Bush: keep off our moon rock
Full Story

More than 60 worried owners of lunar real estate have written to the White House warning Bush not to let astronauts soil their property.
Three years ago more than 1,200 people there paid 30 to 40 marks (15 to 20 euros, or 18 to 24 dollars, in today's money) each to buy pieces of moon rock in parcels of 700,000 square metres.
But when Bush in January announced plans to send US astronauts back to the moon and build a lunar launch pad for manned trips to Mars, "worried (Kurier) readers asked us what would happen to their property."
Sendler told them to write to the White House. Earlier this week the paper sent off a first batch of 60 to 80 letters, but more are arriving every day.
Some warned Bush that while they didn't mind a space station being built, "they didn't want landing flags or rusting vehicles dumped on their land."

Ok, first of all what kind of idiot thinks they can have ownership to land they can never access? HEY I OWN JUPITER, CUZ I SAY SO! HANDS OFF! What about the guy who claimed to be able to sell the lunar land? He claims a 1967 loophole. Well gee , I guess they will have to rely on a lunar posse to protect their investments LOL:nopity::nopity::nopity:

4. I guess it's............
the same type of people who laid claim to what we now call the United States of America. Nobody really "owned" the land here, but early settlers laid claim to it "legally" and slaughtered the indigenous people that were squatting on "their land".
I know the analogy is silly, but so is Dumbya's claim to establish a moon base. I'm all for a moon base, as long as Dumbya is firmly entrenched as it's live-in caretaker.

has a chance to soil their 700,000 square metre parcels.

Hey that moon real estate is pretty cheap. Anyone got a link to the sale?

On a side note, through extensive research, I have discovered a loophole in the international agreement that designated Antarctica as a scientific front.

I will now be selling 700,000 square metre parcels of ice caps for € 30 apiece.

9. Then my Antarctica ice cap sale will fare much better than that ...
German dude's moon rock venture. Fresh air and fresh water are plentiful on my parcels of Antarctica ice caps.
