Isn't It Odd They Know It's Not Bin Laden?
Does anyone else find it interesting they seem to know the "person of importance" cornered in Pakistan is not Bin Laden?

I'll stop without mentioning the implications.

1. No, not odd at all. Remember a couple of weeks ago when they

had Osama cornered in a spider hole, and they were just waiting for the signal to go headbag him?

Then George Tenet made a trip to Pakistan and as soon as he got back they announced that Osama and Zawahiri had left the spider hole and gone back to Afghanistan.

Now today Zawahiri is back in the spider hole. Nothing odd at all.

13. Actually, it is Echelon...
And it was a New Zealander who exposed it to the world:

New Zealand researcher Nicky Hagar published an extraordinary book <'Secret Power: New Zealand's Role in the International Spy Network', Nelson, NZ, Craig Potton, 1996. ISBN: 0 908802 35 8> which finally lifted the lid on one of the best kept secrets of the Western alliance: the Echelon satellite telecommunications surveillance system.

Designed and co-ordinated by the U.S National Security Agency, the Echelon system is used to intercept the e-mail, fax, telex and telephone communications carried over the World's telecommunciations network.

As Nicky Hagar detailed, Echelon is designed primarily for non-military targets: governments, organisations, businesses, and citizens in virtually every country in the World. It potentially affects every person communicating between (and sometimes within) countries everywhere in the World.

3. Not really

First, they think they know, not necessarily know. But presumedly they are acting on intelligence of some sort and that intelligence might well know who is or isn't there. One can know where Bin Laden isn't without knowing where he is. I know Bin Laden isn't in my apartment but I don't know where he is.

4. You're Probably Right But...
The reports I've seen indicate the only reason they know someone important is there is because of the ferocity of the resistance. If that's all they have, then it could be Bin Laden. Unless they know where he really is. (Like, say, in a freezer somewhere).

Of course, news accounts are more often then not incorrect so you're probably right, they have additional intelligence.

8. I believe that
OBL is dead for sure . He was suffering from kidney disease and needed dialysis so He could not possibly survive all this time on the run without proper treatment. We should be cautious with Mousharef the dictator statements ,he may just want to put a show, a diversion , from the scientist nuclear scandal. How could anyone believe that this scientist, who has been pardoned - would have been involved in nuclear oh I mean NUCULAR- as private ? this is the most naive assertion I have ever heard knowing how things are run in this dictatorship ...All this commotion might be just a battle against talliban oh Remnants ... watch the news, there have been less triumphalism , more cautious declaration...since yesterday when the news hit the headlines,
remnants or fossils?

12. Musharaff, the man who gave WMDs to terrorists?
You mean him? He who says he had no idea about the "secret" weapons deals of his top scientist? A man who didn't know that could not have possible pulled off the coup he did...he know everything that goes on in Pakistan. Once again, we get in bed with the devil.

17. hi kety
is "Nucular" a loaf of bread that can just be wrapped up in small package? how many people have to be involved for the transfer, the shipping, and all the fuss involved in handling such material? I just cannot believe the media can be so stupid to go along with the version given by Mucharaff . I am not though blaming Moucharef, considering the high crime and misdemeanor committed by those who are sleeping with this devil...

11. I find it VERY interesting
not necessarily "odd", but definitely interesting. IF they can place him there they must have seen him or intercepted communications. Or they know OBL is out of commission (one way or the other) & that al-Zawahiri is the de facto al Qaeda #1. Maybe bin Laden was killed at Tora Bora... as far as I know there has been no verified new video of him since then?

Getting al-Zawahiri would be fantastic. Supposedly he is the brains of al Qaeda. He has sent many fantatics to their deaths as part of his plans, so I wonder if he will give his own life?

15. The hell with Bin Laden. Terrorism is funded by Saudi Kings and Princes.
These are the culprits. They are also business partners of the Bush Family. So don't hold your breath that anything will be really be done anytime soon on the war on terror.

16. Bin Laden
I already saw a news story http://news.bostonherald.com/national/view.bg?articleid=1443 downplaying the capture of Bin Laden. Then I watched Democracy Now with Craig Unger talking about his book "House of Bush, House of Saud". I don't believe Bin Laden will be captured and if is he'll be turned over to the Saudis. I mean shit, he's Bush's brother! Where would Bush be today w/o Bin Laden? And to any freepers lurking, are you f...ing nuts?

19. Like a few posters here
I find it very odd that two of our "coalition" members in the WOT are Pakistan & Saudi, completely insane to anyone with even a cursory knowledge of the history and politics of both countries
