Is Musharaff a dictator? Please explain why we are dealing
with this guy who sold nuclear secrets and arms to N Korea, Iran and Pakistan and we just gave him a "pass" on that? This truly is the Bush* crime family.

Why isn't * being called on this?

Also, there was someone on Hardball last night implying that Musharaff is putting on a show for Colin Powell in reference to the
high-value" target. He basically said "I will believe it when I see it."

How STUPID is the misadministration? For what 2-3, there is non-stop coverage of capturing al-Zawahri. If this doesn't pan out, these thugs are going to look like the idiots they are.

1. We are dealing with him for the same reason

we deal with every other dictator. Democracy is too messy for the third world. If they had democracy then the people of the third world might do something very naughty like vote for a government that won't allow them to be slaves for Coca Cola, Enron, Bechtel, MCIWorld Com, McDonalds, Archer Mitchell Daniels, Monsanto, etc, etc, should I go on?

Democracy is all well and good for TV commericials and movies, but when it comes down to it, it's not very profitable, and in America, that's all that really matters.

And on edit- You don't think we allowed him to sell working weapons do you? Tsk, tsk, tsk. Remember when Bush told us we KNOW Saddam has WMD, but we can't give you the evidence because it would compromise sources. Well the sources who tell us they sold WMD technology to (insert 3rd world leader who's not good for capitalism) is that it's OUR PEOPLE selling this stuff to them. Now if it's our guys selling the 'evidence' needed to justify toppleing these guys, you don't think we'd actually allow them to get something useful do you?

4. Just because he wan't properly elected
is no reason to get so upset.
Get over it.

And as for selling arms to unfriendly nations,
I am sure that his Secretary of Defense and his Veep can explain that away.

5. Yes he is a dictator.
You have a big enough top and you can spin anything hard enough to make it look like something it is not. But, if it walks like a duck, swims like a duck, has feathers and a beak like a duck and quacks like a duck....its still a duck.

6. Musharraf is a bastard.
At one point, Pakistan was one of the most progressive Islamic nations, with elected officials and a women prime minister. Then General Musharraf (the media and Bush call him "President") led a coup, and Pakistan is now a repressive nation.

7. The Enemy of our Enemy is our FRIEND....
Edited on Fri Mar-19-04 05:00 PM by BiggJawn
Pervez really ought to take a LONG hard look at his neighbour Saddam. Saddam was our "friend", too. Shit, the current Secretary of War even SHOOK HIS HAND!

Then Iran wasn't our biggest enemy anymore, and Saddam pulled a dumb-ass stunt and invaded Kuwait and torched the Holy Founts of the BFEE.....Dumb, dumb, dumb....

Pervez, you'll be in good aroma only as long as it suits the suits inside the beltway. once you've outlived your usefulness, you will TRULY have "outlived" your usefulness....
