Everytime i begin a new paragraph, it automatically skips four lines. I have everything set to double spacing, but cant seem to solve this problem. Any experts advice will be humbly appreciated.

Go into Format > Paragraph
There is a section for spacing, this is probably where you set the line spacing to double. To the left of that option is "Before" and "After" make sure both of these are set to 0 pt.
This section also has preview, how does it look in the preview (the spacing between paragraphs)?

2. Look in Format/Paragraph |

and see if you set the before/after to 12 or more. You don't need any before/after if you are double-spaced, so both should be set to zero.
*edit* Cross-post! LOL!

3. look under both styles and page setup |
|
You may have changed the "normal" style.
Format > styles
Click on normal
Then, in there, modify > format > paragraph
