Edited on Mon Mar-22-04 04:23 PM by corporatewhore
and people like them like them they identified as conservatives he said but if you ask them about economics family farms corporatism and trade they sounded very populist/progressive.We will need more populist/progressive leaders in the mold of Dennis Kucinich and Jim Hightower who are willing to say no to corporatism and big business.i have been thinking about this eversince i watched a documentary on corporatism/and "free" trade and communities who were devestated by the mills and factories who left them. The former workers felt abandoned by them and the government.the Documentary is called This Land is Your Land

1. We ought to win over Hightower first
He talks pretty, but he was the incumbant in Texas who decided to turn on his own party (Democrats) because he couldn't get his way (You know the type, he'd rather all of nothing than a little of something), which cost him the election, and launched Rick Perry's career in Texas. If Hightower would have won, then the Dems would have had at least a foothold still in Texas, Perry would be a farmer again, and who knows?

Let's win Hightower back by convincing him that crying might feel good, but it doesn't get you anything. Then maybe his parents would see decent people in government, and vote Democrat.

Just my take. Jim pisses me off. Too much of what he whines about he would have been in a position to do something about if he'd tried a little harder. Heck, he might have been governor instead of Perry.

4. Why, Hightower was one of Rove's first victims. Rove wanted
him out because Hightower was digging way too close to where the bodies are buried.
