Random musing about the press/administration... |

OK... I think we all agree that America (esp. when repugs are in the WH) always needs an enemy...naturally, after the Soviet Union imploded, we needed to come up with a suitably "evil" target for our animosity. Now, as an armchair psychologist, I know that one way to help demonize someone is to make them more familiar to the people you're trying to allign against them. Given that, can anybody think of any other world leader the press and professional politicos refer to by their first name? Bad as Hussein was/is... this just sticks in my craw for some reason... thoughts?

let's say, it seems like the people in power here always need an enemy, in order to distract our attention away from the screwing we're getting at the hands of our republican leaders...
