Bill Frist ... you lying sack of shit |
|
from the ny times website:
bill frist's comments on Clarke's disclosures:
Far from accepting his own responsibility for any failures before the attacks, Mr. Clarke was ``consumed by the desire to dodge any blame'' even as rescuers were sifting through the rubble of the World Trade Center, Dr. Frist said.
of course, mr. frist failed to point out that in his introductory remarks to the 9/11 commission, Clarke said that he had failed the American people in preventing 9/11 ... how the hell can frist say he's trying to "dodge any blame" ???
frist also said:
I am troubled by these charges. I am equally troubled that someone would sell a book, trading on their former service as a government insider with access to our nation's most valuable intelligence, in order to profit from the suffering that this nation endured on September 11, 2001.
of course, the people who suffered most, the 9/11 families, applauded Mr. Clarke's disclosures ... mr. frist seems to be unaware of this rather important piece of information ...
so, let me see if i have this straight ... a courageous whistleblower writes a book disclosing high crimes and misdemeanors and mr. frist is concerned that he benefitted commercially ... and he doesn't seem too concerned that bush failed the american people ...
and what does he say about our government's revolving door that has many of his friends leaving government service only to return as lobbyists ?? and what does he say about cheney's close ties to halliburton that have clearly been driving government policy in iraq ??
the issue, mr. frist, is not whether one profits from one's experience in government service ... the issue, you lying sack of shit, is whether ex-government officials use their experience to benefit the country by telling the truth or whether they seek to use their influence to benefit themselves and their companies at the expense of the american people ... i haven't heard you complaining about the excessive influence insider lobbyists have in washington ...
frist is wrong to decry money Clarke will make from the sale of his book ... and he's done nothing to diminish Clarke's accusations that bush's misguided focus on iraq prior to 9/11 blinded him to the real threat to the country ...

Frist's brother makes 250 million A YEAR as the CEO of Hospital Corp of America. That man will net billions from the Bush medicare bill.
You wanna take benefit commercially, Frist? Let's talk.

3. I don't remember the republicans being troubled with all |

the benefits they get from 9-11. Bush got a presidency and he's hoping to get it twice because of 9-11. He got a war in Afghanistan and Iraq (and amazingly enough pipelines and oil wells).

Additionally, he accused Clarke of "an appalling act of profiteering" by publishing a book that relied on access to insider information relating to the worst terrorist attacks in the nation's history.
Excuse me? If you want to look for war profiteers, start with the president and vice president. Bush will inherit part of his father's stock in Carlyle, and Cheney still receives a check from Halliburton. In other words, the more wars they start, the more their fortunes rise.

14. Say again? Who's trying to profit from the suffering this nation endured? |
|
Who's trying to win election because of this suffering, even though the facts do not back him up as any type of heroic figure.

15. a one-man microcosm of what the neocons are all about . . . |
|
Frist is the perfect exemplar of what's wrong with neocons and their view of the world . . . he's either said lying sack of shit, or he's so incredibly stupid that he shouldn't be serving on a school board, much less the U.S. Congress . . . is it possible that he honestly doesn't see the untruths and the contradictions in what he's saying? . . . nahhhhh . . . which means that, yes, he is indeed a prevaricating parcel of poo . . .
we really MUST win in November . . . I mean, really! . . .

17. Sure Bill...Up For FULL Disclosure??? |
|
Let's let all that intelligence out and have the American people see for themselves. Not just the selective bits the GOOP is notorious for releasing, but EVERYTHING...including those redacted 19 or so pages about Saudi connections to 911 terrorists. C'mon, Bill...let the sun really shine in.
Slime bucket!
Here's hoping Bob Graham really runs with this one. Looks like he's got the goods. They keep digging deeper holes.

18. That's what I think should be done. |

Open up everything. And make that incompetent Ms. Rice testify, UNDER OATH and IN PUBLIC, to the commission. Geez, even Rumsfeld got up there. I know he said he didn't remember anything (should this guy have that job if he has such a faulty memory, I mean, really), but he did get up there and swear. Why is she so friggin' special?

19. Shhh...National Security |
|
We wouldn't want to know that we were going to be attacked BEFORE we were attacked would we?
Condi is at Ground Zero of the RoveCo. Fear Machine. She's the one who has replaced that fear of those evil Ruskies with those evil Islamists. Instead of being godless heathens, they're just heathens who believe in the wrong god.
This regime needs to ratchet up fear for it to hold its base together...and no greater fear that some dark "feriner" ready to mess up our lilly white Christian nation.
Get ready for the "Executive Privilidge" game to be played...this is the first shot. It's so stupid considering how much information Clarke has made available combined with existing statements and other reports. Short of saying she's having sex with bin Laden, there's not a damn thing Condi could say that would endanger this nation worse than her continued lying.
