Do Republicans Realize That If Clarke Lied About Anything, |
|
it was what he said trying to make Bush look good? Can you imagine? "So sir, are you saying now that when you said Bush paid heightened attention to al qaeda that that was untrue?" Answer: "Yes. I said that to make Bush look good, he really didn't do shit."
Why are they trying to prove he lied? This is too good to be true. Clarke is Bush's Tar Baby.

Now how smart would that be for the GOP.
I think whats up here is some "perjury" allegations to stir shit up, but hey'll drop that ..but leave the idea hanging there to discredit Clarke.....

They're damned if he lied, damned if he didn't.
Brilliant tactic, George! Prove that you made your own counter-terrorism czar lie to Congress!

4. Have I mentioned recently how much I love Richard Clarke? |
|
I love the mess the repubs have gotten themselves into.

5. He already said as much during testimony... |
|
At one point, when asked about some August 2002 press release, Clark says that as an employee of the president, his job was to make him look good, which he did by his 2002 statements.
If they want to go down this road with Clark, it's going to end badly. The man is no candy ass, from what I could tell by listening to him.

7. It seems as usual they are |
|
too obsessed with their hatred to look at the overall picture and realize what they are throwing out there is going to blow right back on them. Also they think that everyone else is stupid, which proves how stupid they actually are. :silly:

9. I do hope they press it. |
|
I hope they do because the public already understands the concept of press releases. And the Bush Administration will only give the mainstream more time to understand that Bush has been feeding them half-truths.
In addition to Bush, the press is to blame. They're savvy enough to know when they're only being fed half a story and it's their job to get the other half via investigative reporting.
If anything, this experience should tell us exactly where the bottleneck occurred. It occurred when the press was incapable of doing good follow-up questions. They must know that a press release is slanted, and they must know the executive process of approval to see the traps.

10. I believe Clarke's answer as to his past positive remarks about * |
|
was that he had been careful to say that * reacted strongly, and properly to terrorism AFTER 9/11!

11. So now, if we attack Bush officials for "trying to make Bush look good..." |
|
Then Ari and Scottie and the whole gang are gonna be in BIG trouble, aren't they? They should immediately desist from defending their President -- they could be all be charged for perjury years down the line!
