Kerry is right -- it is about character assassination. |
|
And now that NBC has told us Bush has weathered the Clarke storm, it is time for the Democrats to back our candidate and say that we agree with him that the attacks on Clarke by the Bush regime were nothing but character assassination. They never wanted to get to the truth. Otherwise, they would open up the investigation and say let the chips fall where they may. That is what a real president would say. But this guy is not a real president.
And it is time to remind the media once again that their job is not to defend those in power. Their job is not to be a lapdog. They are supposed to be a watchdog. They are not supposed to attack whistleblowers - they are supposed to get to the bottom of the whistlelower's charges. People can call them whores, liberals , corporate slugs, or whatever, but their responsibility is to report the facts and not to defend the Republican or Democratic president that might be in power.
As for NBC saying it is over and that Bush has weathered the storm, we would remind the GE defense leeches that it is over when the people have been given the truth and they know all the facts. It is not over just because they say it is over...unless they are ready to tell us the rest of the story...They shouldn't be so obvious in their incompetence.

1. Kentuck---you hit on something here very important and I think Kerry |
|
is on to it and using it. I'm referring to this "character assassination" business. Remember Clinton did a whole segment of his speech at the Unity Dinner on what these vile pigs will do. Then I notice today that Kerry's statement contains reference to "character assassination". I think he and the Dems want to use this over and over until the people are prepared in advance for the way the repukes work. He wants the people to know that the slime will eventually do this to him. The more this phrase is used, the harder it is for Bush to do it. It needs to be emphasized by every talking head that the only way they know how to debate/run for election, etc. is "character assassination" because they have squat else.

2. Clinton is absolutely right... |

and he should know. That is all the Repubs know how to do. And when Democrats try to fight back, they say we are full of anger and hatred.
