3. Sorry that I did not say. Texas. We had our county conventions tonight.
We only had 2 resolutions to take to the state and the paper trail for BBV was very well received by the group. Even though in our county we still fill in the little ovals with a pencil and the repuke and Dem chairs watch the counting like hawks.

10. WOW! Only 2?
we started with about 150, then the committees got them down to 49 (mostly consolidating similar ones). we worked from about 2:15pm until 6:30pm discussing and voting on them. I think we had three voting resolutions, which contained various issues, such as paper trail, instant update, etc. I think they all could have been conolidated into one, but when you start with 150, I can understand some redundancy not getting caught on the first round.

11. Fabulous work. Where are you? We are in a small county and the Dems
are not numerous, but we are strong and growing.

13. I am in Galveston County... Congrats to you!!!
That's excellent news on your growing Dem population! No doubt your efforts are/will be affecting those around you! Keep up the good work!

I am working on a post right now to put in the campaign 2004 forum, regarding the events of tonight in my convention.

14. That's probably where this thread should have been but I just posted
willy-nilly when I got home. (What the hay does that mean anyway?)

15. I think yours is fine here.... but mine mentioned candidates....

2. So-o-o-o glad to read this!
I'm now a delegate to state convention. I introduced a BBV resolution.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Would you post the text of your resolution so others might use it as a guide?

I'm glad you are on top of this issue. We know that the "felon" voter purges in Florida were in the works at least six months before the election in 2000, and I've been concerned about what might be going on behind the scenes now. I doubt the Republicans will try the same trick twice (although they may be that bold), so it's good to know that someone is paying attention to all possibilities and keeping eyes open.

6. Do you introduce resolutions at the county and then vote on them at
the state level?

9. Welcome to DU and I will see you in June. I think that the BBV
resolution will pass. There seems to be support for it across the state. What county are you representing?

17. Webb County
I'll be with the Webb County contingent. We're sending 117 delegates & 117 alternates because of our high turn out in the 2002 governor's race. :)

This is the first time I've ever gotten this involved in a Presidential race & I'm quite excited about it.

What county will you be hailing from? my "real" first name is kelly, btw. :)

16. Thank You
Keep them coming.

Many local districts are passing resolutions for BBV, then passing it on up to state.

Let your local election officials know.

They need to understand that in spite of all the PR they get from the non-paper vendors, BBV is going to happen.
