"Make sure he never earns another dollar in Washington"
Richard Clarke said he was told by an insider in the Whitehouse that this statement was made about him from the highest echelons of Government. Talk about vindictiveness. These people are just plain Thugs. He was asked if he would give up all profits from his book because the GOP found him contemptible. He said he had planned from the beginning to give a certain amount of the proceeds to not only families of 9-11 victims but also of Special Forces Widows and families because of the War on Terror around the world. He said though that because of such a campaign to destroy him and his economic well-being that the amount would have to be determined after evaluating the popularity and sales of his book. Very Sad Commentary on the Pettiness and thugishness of this Administration.

5. Karl Rove is the most vicious,
nasty, contemptible human being I have ever met. It's been years since I had him for a prof and I still feel like I need a shower. Ick.

I know it's not good for my karma...but I kinda hope he ends up with a cell mate named Spike who quotes that line right back at him.

18. He was an asshole
He taught my "Campaign Politics" class in grad school. A friend had to sit between me and him every class to keep me from going over the table and strangling him.

I consider it a point of honor that he once called me a "fundamentalist, Shi'ite feminist". :-)

17. Karl Rove was a professor? I thought he never graduated with
even a bachelors degree.

4. That one statement pretty much gives the game away
in Washington. It's a mob and their sole interest in Washington is the money they can make there, and nothing else.

6. Clarke will do fine.
As much as Clarke's testimony is about the war in Iraq and the BUllSHit administration's failures, this is also about what Clarke leaves behind and whether or not he served his country well while in government.

I say he did. In spades.

10. You are quite possibly correct ~ I sometimes suffer from CRS
and I don't have the transcripts of the show. I was just going by memory so I really shouldn't have quotation marks around the statement. :-( CRS (can't remember shit)

11. No problem
I just was mad that with all the money being made by Repugs leaving the WH, they were going to see that he does not make any money.

8. I want this man protected beyond our wildest imaginations
Clarke is a national treasure - he's the Patriot from Hell! I hope he can survive these criminals and go on to train young people in his mold, after single-handedly re-educating our voting public about this government.

But for now, please, protect him from the orcs - he is the brave patriot our country is in such desperate need of!

12. I hope Clarke makes millions off of this book
I find it mildly amusing when douchebags like Frist boo-hoo about Clarke making money on his book. Frist and his family have absolutely no problem fleecing Americans for millions upon millions of dollars with their HMO, but woe betide someone who makes an honest buck. I am doing my part to help fund Clarke's severance package. I bought one of the last copies of his book at Borders. It's selling like hot-cakes, and I love it.

13. They can't hurt him now
but in the future these spineless thugs are capable of "causing accidents" i would say. Rove is like that chemist in school, who's always up to strange brews until it blows up in his face.

He needs protection. At the very least the public for the most part and some 9/11 families have his side covered.

20. Talking out of their other face!
Aren't they usually the ones that support capitalism?

It's okay for them to profit from their war, but somehow it's immoral for Clarke to profit from his own courage?

Twisted. Totally twisted.
