Now we have her! She will testify under oath, and since we know what she OUGHT to say is going to be different from what she WILL say, we ought to convene the grand jury now, and save some time.

1. I'm sure Rove has a game plan. :-( |
|
No doubt Coach Karl has come up with a way to twist and spin things. Yes, the administration has a lot of idiots, but Rove is a very cunning sumbish.

Sorry, but this happened WAY too easily. They've got something up their sleeve.

12. I was listening to some of the testimony... |
|
I was listening to some of the testimony from last Wednesday. I don't know how many people are aware, but Deputy Sec. of State Armitage more or less "stood in" for Condi as the last witness to be questioned that day. One of the commission members (Richard Ben-Veniste maybe?) kept treating Armitage as if he was Rice. It was a pretty good tactic for bringing attention to the fact that Rice had backed out. But he also gave Rice a book to play by, because he kept asking Armitage the questions he wanted to ask Rice. It plays well when you're listening back to the testimony--he obviously really wanted to rake Condi over the coals--but in retrospect, it seems like he delivered a lot of the questions to her.
IIRC, the next testimony date is set for around the second week of April. So unless they're scheduling a special session to put Rice up sooner, we'll be waiting 2 or 3 weeks. That may also give her more time to prepare a "story."

It didn't happen that easy.
She's been saying NO for a long time, working talk-shows to get her message out, but nothing's worked.
I predict, she'll lie as uch as possible, but is resolved to taking the fall for Bush, if aLL else fails.

8. The fact that it happened at all... |
|
...THAT'S what makes me think it was too easy. Rove simply doesn't cave. But you could very well be right that Condi is being set up to take the fall--but even that would cause a whole helluva lot of trouble for Bushco.
I still think this is gonna go south somehow...

9. Condi was every where on tv for days saying she wouldn't |
|
Edited on Tue Mar-30-04 10:45 AM by Kadie
couldn't do it. It does seem that this happend rather suddenly after all their hoopla. I'm with you, I wonder what they are up to. They obviously figured out a way to spin spin spin in their direction.
Hopefully it won't matter. Maybe what she has to say sill put some doubt in the undecided and true belivers minds.

When I first heard that Condi was going to testify, I was ecstatic. But once I settled down from that I came to the same conclusion you did. Something is rotten here, because this was too easy. We need to be on our guard with this one and make sure that we check all the facts of what she says. I believe public pressure was instrumental in getting the administration to have Condi testify, now we need to keep the pressure up to keep the story straight.

5. Questions for Condi from the 9/11 commission: |

Where do you buy your clothes? Do you like pizza? What stocks are a good bet in the upcoming months? Have you ever played softball before today?

This is a dangerous moment.
If Condi does well the media will lap it up and the Bushists will have defanged the left completely.
I hope she buggers it up but I wouldn't bet on it.

10. Apparently That Separation Principle Wasn't That Important |

When it started to look like a political liability, that whole separation of powers canard was pretty unimportant, wasn't it?
Just proves, again, that these felons are purely political and care not one whit about governance. The Professor

I think that she'll lie. Hell, she may even get the questions beforehand so she can rehearse the answers.
I knew this was too good to be true...

i'm confident that if she lies, there will be people in high and low places that can pick it apart. this is not what they wanted to happen, being such a secretive administration. being so devious makes them ultra vulnerable to the bright light of scrutiny. i'm with clarke - "declassify".
