What's with the polls? Clarke/Condi 24/7, and Bush's numbers go UP????

Are they fucking with us? Is the media spin against Clarke that effective? Is the public that dumb? (They're buying the damn book in droves.)

We are truly living in Orwellian times if the polls are accurate. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that an event like Clarke's testimony and the 9/11 commission's reaction would get spun as "an attempt to sell books" and that it would work.

What's interesting, however, is that the White House and Rice are clearly still in panic mode. Maybe they know the polls are bogus, or maybe they know the testimony issue is more damaging than whatever Rice will say, although that doesn't seem logical.

The more I think about the situation the weirder it gets. Why is the White House caving if Bush is (perversely) getting a BOOST from Clarke? Do they know the polls are bogus?

i think questions and sample sizes are manipulated to show an effect that the compliant media then reports as increased support for shrub.

less discussed polls show shrub support in the 45% range.

It sucks because we knew they were coming and the Kerry campaign has not done a good job refuting the claims. Now the gas tax raising ads are starting.
