Viacom in Talks to Develop Gay Network
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=503&u=/ap/20040330/ap_en_bu/viacom_network_2&printer=1

MEXICO CITY - Viacom is in preliminary discussions to launch a gay cable network in the United States, the media giant's chairman and chief executive said Tuesday.

Sumner Redstone's conglomerate has also "tightened up" its decency standards in the wake of Janet Jackson (news)'s racy performance at halftime of the Super Bowl.

In an interview in Mexico City, where he was launching VH1 Latin America, Redstone said the decency debate in the United States had affected policies at Viacom's media holdings.

1. woot...I think........
I guess it makes sense. The chicks get lifetime and oxygen, the guys get ESPN and Spike TV, blacks get BET, so I guess a gay channel would come around soon enough.

3. What shows would you run on a gay channel?
Seriously, I'd imagine that the content would be rather limited for GayTV, and that it would end up looking like most other channels with an occasional "gay themed" show tossed in.
