and a later....I've already emailed twice
Gore speech on Iraq: WHEN?????
Only, Gore is lambasting the entire list of crap: Iraq, Patriot act, and is now talking about "honesty and integrity"....he's blasting the character of the Bush Admin...HONEST budget nos., real compassion for the poor, etc etc.
ON Edit...sorry, I misread CSPAN for CNN...I'm very pissed at CSPAN....the listed today's events....."Former Vice PResident Speech" but named Schwartz........in the "Schwatz.... Gubenatorial Announcement".
What an insult!! They don't know it's Vice President GORE???
They've got plenty of time to air this speech several times if they so choose......

4. If he was a candidate. . . |
|
his speeches would be deemed relevant. Talk to him about that.

The media annointed GWB as Lord & Saviour back in 2000, and they are staying with him.. Remember back to 2000 when supposedly, * and Gore were on "equal" ground, both running for the same office...
Bush would stagger out and proclaim that he was in favor of ..say cheez doodles, and they would fawn all over him because he made it through a 14 word speech, and comment on how "charming" he was ..and thank him for the nickname he gave them...
cue spooky music:
then Gore would speak, about something important and they would point fingers and yell "LIAR...LIAR"...."Look at the earth tones"... "Boring"...

7. I just checked CNN/MSNBC....CNN had reporter at speech, MSNBC says they |
|
will have coverage in the afternoon about the speech and Tweety will cover it on his show tonight.
I won't be watching Tweety trash Gore again.........it's sick what he does....
But, I will try to scan to see if either cable show has more coverage of hilights. CNN did run a short clip and the reporter said that the audience was standing up cheering about Gore's citing the "false intelligence" for going into Iraq."
Blitzer seemed more interested in the fact that Gore wasn't running although he said it was a speech given by someone who certainly "soundied like they were running."
I hope C-Span will run the speech. Better to see it live.....although it's good enough to read and no one will be boredby either. I hung on every word and I bore pretty easily if something worthwhile's not being said.
This speech is a winner.

I hate 24/7 Kobe coverage as much as the next guy but a speech by an ex-vice president hardly qualifies as breaking news. Even if he were a candidate I doubt networks would break into regular programming to broadcast it. The only reason they covered it initially is they thought he was going to announce. Short of that he's just another pol making a speech. Would CNN or MSNBC would interrupt programming to broadcast a speech by Dan Quayle or Walter Mondale? How about John Kerry? Or Gephardt or Dean?
It would be nice if we lived in a world where the press cared about real news but lets face it, for the past 10 years the only place to see this kind of stuff has been C-SPAN.
