Mario Cuomo urges AL GORE to run for President
YESSSSSSSSSSS!

http://www.newsday.com/news/politics/wire/sns-ap-cuomo-gore,0,5192619.story?coll=sns-ap-politics-headlines

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Former Vice President Al Gore should enter the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, said one-time New York Gov. Mario Cuomo, who complained that the sound emerging from the current field is "babble."

Nevertheless, Cuomo called on Gore to reverse course and enter the fray because the party lacks a single candidate to rally around.

"Right now, the Democratic voice is not a single voice. It is not a chorus. It is a babble," he said. Webster's Dictionary defines "babble," as "to make incoherent sounds, as a baby does, prattle."

Isn't this all just peachy? Now does everyone believe me that we just are not farting out mis information?

2. I really like Cuomo, but I disagree.
It would be a mistake for Gore to jump back in. It would make him look fickle. And frankly, there are at least 5 really good candidates running. Why do we need to dredge up 2000 again?

He had a great quote tho, referring to Lieberman calling Dean too liberal:

"I think that's an unfortunate confession by Lieberman of weakness," Cuomo told WROW-AM about the Connecticut senator.

8. this is actually bad news
gore isn't going to run.

cuomo making comments like this only helps the gop keep hammering home the false point that our candidates ar weak and that bush is invincible

13. his spokeswoman says he's not planning to run
gore plans anti-war speech

August 5, 2003 -- WASHINGTON - Amid talk he's being urged to jump back into the presidential race, Al Gore has arranged to speak out on Iraq to a large anti-war group at New York University on Thursday.

A Gore spokeswoman insisted, "Truly, honestly, he's not planning on getting back into the race," but the former vice president's speech to the organization MoveOn should only fuel the speculation.

what is this, is Al Gore getting his political advice from Arnold Schwarzenegger?

17. What is this obsession with Gore?
He lost after serving as Vice President. What would make him more attractive to voters this time?

23. Silly?
You have a strange definition of silly, but I'm sorry for making lite of your post.

But really, come on!

You and George Bush run the Boston Marathon. You and Bush come in neck and neck, tied for first place. You have evidence that Bush took a shortcut, and a photo finish of the race.

The judges refuse to look at the evidence, and stop you from trying toplay the photo results, then declare Bush the winner, because it would cause him irreparible harm if the results of the photofinish were viewed.

Add to this the fact that the majority of the people at the finish line said you were the winner.

Would you just say "Yeah, I lost the Boston Marathon."

And if other people said "Hell, Edward lost once to Bush, what makes anyone think he'll win in the future?" would you accept that?

Gore is the legitimate President of the United States, Bush is an illegitimate squatter, selected by his friends in the SCOTUS.

24. Thanks Annman*** I agree
I believe we've got some of the greatest candidates, and namely I believe we have one who has qualities that our Party hasnt seen in some time.

All in all, we should be proud of most of our candidates. Interestingly enough, I would say two of the weakest currently reside in our Congress, and continue to carry the most clout with the establishment.

12. too much babble?
"Right now, the Democratic voice is not a single voice. It is not a chorus. It is a babble," he said. Webster's Dictionary defines "babble," as "to make incoherent sounds, as a baby does, prattle."

if Cuomo thinks there's too much babble, the solution seems obvious, he should shut his face. and, adding Al Gore's whiny voice to the supposed babble, won't make it more coherent.

Gore already declared he wasn't running. if he changes his mind now, he will be starting his campaign with a flip-flop. not the greatest way to launch a bid.

16. The ALGORE04 Website Is Changing?
I just went there to check out their take on Gore running or not, and the site was gone!

Well, not gone, no 404 error.

Just replaced by this cryptic (under the circumstances) message:

THE SITE WILL RETURN VERY SOON WITH SIGNIFICANT CHANGES. THANK YOU.

Remember, the folks who run the site know the Gore's on a somewhat personal level.

hmmmmmmm......

21. Cuomo's disfunction on the national scene
And he blew NY too. The guy is 95% great and admirable but that other 5% is all too often what he brings to the public scene at the wrong time.
Wrong about Bush restoring the economy. Wrong about his candidacy. This is playing into GOP strategy once again. he's not the only one who can't keep putting the wong foot in mouth. Like Cuomo. Love Gore. But for pity's sake, wise up about the political war we are waging. AL made his decision and with the strong field we have this kind of statement only serves Karl Rove.

Something is seriously wrong with the modern politcial instinsts of some really good Democratic leaders. Really seriously lacking.
