1. Having regrets, Mario? |

Now there's the champ of playing coy. I'm still a bit cheesed at him for not jumping in in 1988 and sparing us Dukakis.

3. Pretty telling that Mario would publicly urge Gore on. |

2. And I sure hope Al responds...positively! |

Folks, Howard Dean is a good man, and would himself have a legitimate shot at Dub were he to become our nominee. BUT...unless the economy is in the SAME or WORSE condition it is now--something that, yes, is likely--he's going to have a hard time attracting independent voters to our cause in the general election. And an even harder time "bringing along" Democratic Congressional candidates.
Al Gore would do both--heck, he HAS done both already--and would impress undecideds in every facet that Dub couldn't (i.e., virtually every issue requiring gray matter and passion to accompany it). And Al is, currently, the ONLY Dem. who would have a chance against Dub--a real chance. This country is going to need more than a regime change next year, it's going to need to be rescued. Al Gore is, IMO, the only potential or actual candidate who could do that. Others may take on that role--and if Al stays with his December decision, let us HOPE that they can--but, currently, the man who has beaten Dub with the votes of the people already is the only guy who can do it again.
B-)
