Gore and Nader combined outpolled Bush and Buchanan by about 700 votes. (About 15,000 votes cast)
Not a neocon hotbed, but an upper middle class haven. Vail is home to Gerald Ford. Very high cost of living.
Has a large working class population (maids, restaurant workers, resort labor, etc.), but many of them are transients or non-citizens and don't vote (or serve on juries) and many of them also live in neighboring counties with lower cost of living. Otherwise, it's an extremely white county in a very white state.

9. They reelected a sheriff who's department did racial profiling |
|
which is why the race card is going to play a major role. Also that county is 0.5% non white.
