Wolfowitz on C. Rose last night, oh the irony |
|
At one point about 45 min into the show, the two were talking about finding Iraqi WMDs. Wolfowitz says that Kay told him a week ago that the word has been past around Baghdad, if anyone give up information on WMDs to US forces they will be killed. And Baghdad is such a large city that without help from the locals they could never find the WMDs hidden in the basement of a home.
Rose then points out "The Iraqi scientist are saying there aren't any WMDs or WMD programs. At least that is what has been reported."
Before Rose could finish speaking Wolfowitz said "Ya know, they could be lying."
How ironic after lying his ass off for 45 min he would accuse someone else of lying.

1. I had to turn it off after 10 minutes. |
|
Hearing that much lying in such a short span of time is just a bit more than my system can bear. :puke:
Any country that has "leaders" like this is in deep sh*t.

|
it out and gave it to all the terrorist organizations?
Isn't that why we weren't hit by the WMDs?

the whole thing, and I kept sitting there wondering when Charlie was going to ask an actual question, rather than just allow Wolfy yet another national platform upon which to mislead the public.
I like Charlie, but there he had before him one of the main architects of this disaster and he let the 45 min segment pass by without asking any real questions, or pointing out to those in T.V. land who Wolfy really is and what his motivations really are.
The interview was as light and fluffy as Snuggle the fabric softener bear.....Wolfy came across as being a nice, well meaning patriot, honestly concerned about spreading democracy across the globe in an effort to uplift mankind, and not the dark, manipulative and malicious overlord of world domination that he is.
Score another one for the SCLM.

4. If you saw all that so clearly, how can you still like Charlie? |
|
I mean, isn't it his responsiblity to ask serious questions to an evil motherf*cker like Wolfowitz? If he's Snuggly the Sweet Fabric Softener Bear with Wolfie, what good is he? :shrug:

because I've been watching him for at least ten years prior to last night's episode and in that time I've been introduced to quite a few people and personalities that I wouldn't have been otherwise. Also, I'm in favor of his show's format.....a commerical-less show that allows the guest time to elucidate his or her point of view and not have to talk in sound bites.
Further, if I turned away from everything in this world that I had a slight disagreement with, I'd have to go and live in the cave that more and more DUers seem to be inhabiting; not to mention that I can think for myself and don't need to hide from everything that doesn't fit in perfectly with my worldview.

6. I used to like Charlie until he became a RW whore |
|
He's had some serious drivel and idiocy on his show in the last couple of years, ever since the coup......allowing RW nitwits to prattle on and on unchallenged.
I had to stop watching it because I lost all my shoes throwing them at the TV screen.

concur with your point of view (excepting the part about Rose as a rightwing whore), only rather than throw my shoes at my television (which I need to watch hockey), I just turn off those episodes that look like they're going to give me ulcers and go and do something else.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I too watch Charlie Rose, it has a refreshing pace and I find it pleasant to be able to see sides of people that are usually not available on the fast and short interviews others do. I asked once what political leaning Charlie had once on DU and was flooded with mostly negative comments. I wish I could have put it as well as you did, I thought tolerance was something Dems had in spades compared to Repubs but maybe it is not so true after all. I like Charlie, if he's a republican I would find that disappointing but would still like him.
Wolfowitz looked extremely tired and was rather unempressive. I thought his answeres were pat, as though he has practiced them so many times before that he could not be caught in any surprising questions. Still there was a quiet nervousness to the man and he admitted we needed to get things done quickly, hinting that time was not in our favor.
7. They can bribe the Republican Guard |
|
...not to fight. They can bribe the people to give up Saddam's sons. Iraqis will join quisling police and military forces for a few dollars a month. But they can't bribe people to disclose the so called "weapons of mass destruction?"
After they caught the leadership of the Republican Guard and that bio warfare woman, an insider American analyst said, "If we don't have the WMD's within 72 hours we'll know there weren't any."
Wolfowitz lives in a neocon fantasy land constructed of lies and nineteenth century era delusions of grandeur. The same type that brought us the world wars.
10. Why I think there was /not/ a nuke program... |
|
Someone posted this idea on here before: the scientist who buried the piece of the centrifuge under the rose bush was told to do so so it could be dug up if they wanted to start a nuke program. The fact that it was still under there should tell us that they didn't start such a program.
Larry Flynt has a web site dedicated to a national prayer day, the subject of which is the demise of Shrill O'Really. If Shrill leaves us, I suggest Larry start a new one for Wolfie and the brownround Rose.
