Calling themselves a leadership council is exactly part of the problem with them. Their attitude appears to be "let's do this our way, it's better than however you want to do it" to anyone who strays from their party line (ie Dean) and when they fail (ie 2002 elections) it's all "OK, we messed up there but we still know the right way to do things more than anyone else." And their name pretty much implies that, that they want to run the whole Democratic party and force people to do things their way. If they called themselves the "New Democrat Coalition" or something, then they might be tolerable. But right now they're just trying to hijack the whole party and have everyone do things the way they want to, and their name further implies that.
